I'm waiting until at least noon to start hanging up lights on my patio. I got the ok from the apartment manager to use a staple gun, and the one I borrowed from Dad is really loud when you use it. Mom has the day off and she wants to go out(she said "We'll start over here on this side of town and work our way down to this side, then we'll head over here and here and...") for decorations. I've been in the stores with Mom before. Unless I keep her focused on what we were planning on getting, we're not going to be back before dark. I love her to death, but the woman is insane when it comes to shopping. Me, I'm more of the "if it isn't on the list then we don't need it, move it before I get claustrophobic" type that gets panic attacks in confined spaces with tons of people, you know, like in stores. :|
What I really want to do is hurry up and put the lights I have now up, come back inside, and work on Hat #3. I have seven more rows of alternating K1, (P1,K1)around and P1, (K1, P1)around left to do before I can start shaping. It's coming along nicely, but I don't think I'm going to be offering to make this pattern because it is really tough on my attention span.
Edit: Mom and I actually went to a grand total of two stores. As luck would have it, one of the places had about 90% of what she was looking for and then the other had the rest. We were back at my place and I was stapling up lights by 3:00.
Unfortunately, the patio power outlet is not working. I checked to see if it was just the lights by plugging the extension cord into an outlet inside and then plugging something I knew worked out on the patio, but nope, it was the outlet. I called maintenance and they said they'd check on it first thing tomorrow. I do have some solar powered snowflakes in front of the hedges though that are lit up, so at least there's a little bit of light out there. Thinking about going to Hobby Lobby tomorrow and getting a big wreath to put on the outside of my patio fence. There's a hook already there and the place looks like it needs one. I'm also thinking about getting a live tree this year. Something small, like a tabletop 2' type, but I really want that pine tree smell.
