My Fandom Stocking has been hung! I would love to get fic for anything on my list, or general notes and/or squee from y'all. If you're participating this year, point me at your stocking so I can leave you things!

I've been cruising Tumblr lately. Here are some fruits of my voyages.
Photo of Ginger Rogers attempting to put makeup on a German Shepherd. Dog: "LOL no." In which Ginger Rogers kicks ass, 1938 style. Seriously, that is hilarious. The movie it's from, Vivacious Lady, is pretty good too.
A sweet picture of Myrna Loy and William Powell I've never seen before. It looks like it might be a still from one of the later Thin Man movies.
Art Deco Batman posters. This one too. This one as well. (Batman's costume does translate really well into the Streamline Moderne style, doesn't it? I'm the last person in the world to notice this, aren't I? Ah, well. Can't say as I ever paid much attention to him or any other superhero...)
And for something completely different,
Cookie Monster on Colbert. Part 2. *
1. She went to another universe to be with him; he changed the timeline of two universes so she would live. (Olivia Dunham/Peter Bishop, Fringe, guessed by
twtd)
2. They fight crime aliens. Mentioning smoking around them is probably a bad idea. (Mulder/Scully, X-Files, guessed by
aria)
3. They're the two most powerful people in their entire civilization. She used his people and resources against his direct orders and he threw her in jail, but they got over it. (Laura Roslin/Bill Adama, BSG, guessed by
rivendellrose)
4. "Explosive" doesn't begin to describe this relationship. (Michael Westen/Fiona Glenanne, Burn Notice, guessed by
thespatz)
5. So much awkward in so relatively few episodes. Also, semaphore. (Benton Fraser/Meg Thatcher, due South, guessed by
rowdycamels)
6. They have sleepovers, share clothes, occasionally engage in inappropriate touching (like one slapping the other on the ass), and basically live in each other's pockets, but they're TOTALLY STRAIGHT, OBVIOUSLY. (Jane Rizzoli/Maura Isles, Rizzoli & Isles, guessed by
twtd)
7. They frequently compare each other unfavorably to tapeworms and other unsavory creatures, but the universe knows they were meant for each other.
Maggie O'Connell/Joel Flesichman, Northern Exposure. Maggie in fact does compare Joel to a tapeworm in a second-season episode; not to mention a mosquito, broccoli, and fungus. And these are the relatively nice insults they exchange. But the universe of the show smiles smugly and keeps putting them in situations that point out they were meant to be together until they finally figure it out.
8. He writes crime, and together, they fight it. (Kate Beckett/Rick Castle, Castle, guessed by
aria)
9. Their lives really could be a musical, given who plays each of them. A musical with pie and herbal crack. (Olive Snook/Alfredo Aldarisio, Pushing Daisies, guessed by
rowdycamels)
10. This pairing's idea of a perfect evening spent together would be curled up together in a library, reading and writing. They're also very fond of gadgets, the more steampunk the better.
Myka Bering/Helena G. Wells, Warehouse 13. This got several Secret Adventures of Jules Verne guesses, I think because of the steampunk reference. But not quite!
11. In their middle and old age, they basically rule the galaxy. (Delenn/Susan Ivanova, Babylon 5, guessed by
aria)
12. He would really like to count her spots. (Jadzia Dax/Julian Bashir, DS9, guessed by
twtd)
13. They've pretended to be the most famous romantic couples ever written, but their relationship is more than words on a page. (Geoffrey Tennant/Ellen Fanshaw, Slings & Arrows, guessed by
rowdycamels)
14. They break the fourth wall a lot while they fight crime, and veer occasionally into Shakespeare, film noir, and big musical production numbers.
Maddie Hayes/David Addison, Moonlighting. I figured the fourth wall thing enough would be enough to instantly identify this one, but apparently not. If you haven't seen this series, you really should. It's eightiestastic, but don't let that dissuade you, because it's hilarious and sweet and sad and romantic, and seriously, the Shakespeare episode is the funniest thing I have ever seen.
15. She wants to be an adventurer. He enables her.
Charley Pollard/the Eighth Doctor, the Doctor Who audios. I kind of figured this wouldn't get guessed, because the audios aren't as well-known as the show. But they should be, because Charley the self-styled Edwardian Adventuress is awesome!
16. He might be a god. She thinks he's crazy. This doesn't bother him as much as it should. (Trevor Hale/Claire Allen, Cupid, guessed by
twtd)
17. They met because he took a wrong turn at the hyperspace equivalent of Albuquerque. The first thing she did was try to kill him. And yet they wound up having a baby together. (John Crichton/Aeryn Sun, Farscape, guessed by
twtd)
18. She threatened to snap his hands off at the wrists, he offered to buy her a drink, and they quickly became good friends.
Susan Ivanova/Michael Garibaldi, Babylon 5. Come onnnnnnn, guys, if only by process of elimination this should have been guessed, because you know I'd never leave them off a list of ships I support! :D Though I admit, the snapping his hands off at the wrists and buying her a drink references might not have been terribly obvious to anyone who hasn't seen early S1 episodes recently. It was hard to describe these two, because their relationship largely exists in my head.
19. The first time the audience sees her smile is when she dances with him. Perhaps the ultimate performing arts power couple, reporters absolutely love them. (Linda Keene/Peter Peters [aka Petrov], Shall We Dance, guessed by
thespatz)
20. Their love is so mechanical. They have a theme song, sort of. I wouldn't be surprised if their sex life involved bondage, because one of them has an electrical tape fetish.
Okay, I admit, I knew only a few people from the Farscape-Shippers list had a chance of getting this one. It's Little Blue/1812, two DRDs from Farscape. I am the original purveyor of
Bad Mental Images Involving DRDs, and I needed something to fill out the rest of this meme.
