28 - attention is a deadly poison

Jun 13, 2007 00:02

Whichever asshole sent flowers to Hinamori, watch yourself. Once I find out exactly who you are you'll be as good as dead.

For anyone else, if you know of anyone that fancies poisonous flowers as gifts or short, dark-haired intruders, please share.

...Isane?

Sir, I'm afraid that I have my suspicions and theories regarding that event.

You know who is to blame?

I believe I do.
It's two people--one who directs, and the other who acts. They are from my world; I know them.

But I also have reason to believe that this was a mistake on the the part of the one who acts.

What would they want with Hinamori?

How so?

I can't yet be sure of why they'd want her--I know Dr. 'Allen' spoke to her recently, though.

May I ask, sir, does she have any wounds around her eyes?

I believe it is a mistake because of a rather angry exchange just afterwards between the two of them--quite a public disagreement too. It's unusual for them to be so obvious--they're unfamiliar with the technology here; it's very unlike our world.

I presume the method used was a needle or a syringe hidden in the bouquet? It's a familisr trick--somewhat amateur and imprecise, though. It's something they and their cohorts back in my world might do, but the imperfection of the attack coupled with the argument makes me believe your short, dark-haired intruder is my enemy's assistant.

May I examine the bouquet? If she's been poisoned, she needs an antidote immediately. I can help with that.

Her eyes seem swollen, but I haven't any medical background to tell if that's unusual or not.

Why the hell would they target the eyes anyhow? The bouquet is kept in a bag, I didn't throw it out. You may have it if you can formulate an antidote for her.

It's possible then-- It is unusual. But it tells me what I need to know. It's an obsession of the doctor's.

I should be able to create an antidote for her quite easily. You're welcome to monitor me if you suspect anything at all. I'll be taking it to the laboratories immediately.

I'll trust you to create an antidote, sir..?

Lord Cain Hargreaves. I can't thank you enough for your help with this matter. We'll see that she's put to rights.

You must be the Mr. Hitsugaya that Miss Isane spoke of before.

I am, though it's the first time anyone's addressed me as Mister.

Thank you for your help, Lord Hargreaves.

Yes--your title is Captain, isn't it? I was only just corrected on that.
Apologies, Captain Hitsugaya.

But you are most welcome.

It is. But no apologies are necessary.

Will it take long?

It shouldn't.

Especially now that you've been told an antidote.
Mithridatium--the arrogant ass. Let me help with it--I know about that too.

Is it trustworthy? Why would he poison her if he intended to reveal the antidote.

It's a cure-all of sorts, so it should be all right. But once I learn what was actually used, I can tell you for certain--perhaps even suggest something better for it.

I don't believe he intended to poison her in the first place. The least he can do at this point is keep her from dying, I suppose.
