every truncheon hit misguided

I don't know what else I can do. There's some horrible shit going down in Burma this week. Buddhist monks and other anti-government protestors are being arrested, beaten and shot by police. Economic sanctions and expressions of outrage just aren't enough.. you can't take from people who already have nothing, and being angry does nothing. What can we do? I urge everyone to write letters to Maxime Bernier, our Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In solidarity with and support for all of the protestors, I'm burning some incense and posting these lyrics by Decoded Feedback. If any Burmese who are pro-democracy happen to read this, keep up the good fight. No matter how many of you get beat down, you can never let them crush your spirit. Keeps the cameras alive. Show the world what's going on.

Supernova
Stars shining in the night sky
Are the spirits of those
who have died
They have exchanged
their earthly bodies
Into empty shells
full of light, full of light...

While I burn my own flame
Dimmed by grief and despair
of your loss
The stars are watching me
And they will burn forever.
forever...

One day I will leave
my earthbound body
And my own star will burn
reunited with yours
In a constellation of joy

A new star is shining in
the sky tonight

For all of those not in the know, here's some links to news articles about what's been happening the past couple of days. Beware, some accounts may have been written by junta instigators:

State media says 9 killed in Burma protest crackdown
Scores of Burmese monks arrested in monastery raids
Soldiers deployed to Myanmar protest site
Accounts from inside Burma
Burma's hardline generals
Viewpoint: Love over fear in Burma
Burma's cyber-dissidents

There's so many more links, I could spend all day doing this. I'm sure anyone reading can follow them on the BBC's website. Spread the word.
