So I was at orangeblosxom's unhousewarming party the other night, and as is likely to happen when I start talking, the subject of quantum physics came up. I think I broke chinchilathehun's brain. Well, it's like when you're moving to a new apartment, but still have stuff at the old one. You're kind of living in two places at the same time. It's the same thing with electrons. It's really hard to tell exactly where an electron is, because it can appear to be somewhere you didn't expect it to be, disappear and reappear somewhere else, or even be in two places at the same time. This leads to the question of whether this happens because that's how electrons behave, or whether it happens as an act of observing that electron ( ... )
