Some people on my live journal friends list seem to be interested in self-analysis, sorting out where they're going next in life, career etc. - quite a lot of people in one way or another. This new trend in life coaching reminds me of the Harry Enfield 'I saw you coming' sketch, where the woman says "Ah well actually, I've had some business cards printed to say I'm an interior designer - so I AM one". Having said that, there's probably a good deal more practicality and speed to it than psychology. Here's a book reccomendation (don't let the art work catering to a certain target audience put you off).
'Unlock your potential - Liz Wilde (Ryland Peters & Small). I got my copy in a charity shop.
This book has useful lists throughout for your own personal brainstorming and chapter headings such as what would make you really happy?
