Goodwill to All (except ourselves)
Ok I've been wanting to start blogging again for a while but couldn't figure out what to say....until now. Fortunately for my poor lonely blog's sake, I need to rant about something and it's too long for my Facebook status so here I am.
My annoyance today was spurred by an email I received from American Eagle asking me to purchase a tee-shirt to benefit Haiti. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all about helping others and I recognize that Haiti has a lot of cleanup and tragedy to deal with and I wish them nothing but the best. However, I really would like someone to explain to me our nation's obsession with making sure other countries are stable. What about the poor single mothers working 3 jobs to be able to put food on the table for their children? What about the homeless? What about Americans who are suffering from god knows what because we can't afford health insurance. What kind of super power are we if we can't help ourselves??
