He... had his uses for me. They were mostly not medical in nature, though I do have him to thank for that training.

Depends on which mask we're talking about. There are many shinobi who wear many different masks.

My medical training has not gone to waste. It has been put to good use since my arrival in this place.

And no, Zabuza is not here. Were he, I doubt I would be enjoying the freedoms that I have since arrival.

It seems that way, and I haven't truly made a decision either way. I'm not sure that he would have use for a tool that has discovered that it can be more than that.

It's intoxicating, isn't it? We're all of us tools in one way or another, differing only in our own uses and how well we can use others. But a tool realizing that it can be its own wielder is one of the most powerful experiences a shinobi can have, and not one easily undone.

Indeed. I suppose that this, mostly, is why a part of me hopes not to find Zabuza here. I... don't know what his reaction would be, and I dare not hope it to be a positive one.

They rarely are. That's why it's important to stretch your wings and feel their strength--you're as much a songbird as a bird of prey. And don't forget that you have kin here; we understand.
