A bit late, but here's the blog about what I did on Monday.
So I met up with Gaby at Granville station and we walked up to Chapters. I couldn't find the manga I wanted, so I stalked after Gaby all the while complaining that I was too hot or too cold. She bought her magazines and then we headed off to HMV. I don't really remember what happened there except that amazingly, she didn't buy anything.
We went to catch the bus to Granville Island and after we got off, she lead me to this dark and scary tunnel. It was numbered 1954 on top (why earth would it need to be numbered? I'm thinking it's some secret portal to another dimension. Why else would there be a stone 100 right outside the other end of the tunnel?) and it was creepy, so I ran out. We went into an umbrella shop and they had all these cool ones in there. Some had sharp points at the end that could surely poke someone's eye out. Others had fancy handles or weird design that I can't imagine people using. Maybe that's why the shop was so empty xP
THE KIDS MARKET was heeeeaven. I haven't been there in SO long and we even went in through the kids entrance. I ran around, a LITTLE BIT crazy and happy. I dragged Gaby into this baby clothing store and all the outfits were so cute. I said I couldn't believe babies were so small and cupped my hands together. Gaby stared at me and was like, "They aren't THAT small." (referring to my cupped hands.) HA. I was talking about their feet.
We walked around some more, went outside and she took gorgeous pictures like these:
I was saying how I wanted to live somewhere with a pretty view outside my window when the little aquabus passed by. I was like, "O_O....that's it?" (bah...I'll ride it with you if you want to go back, Gaby...) Then a...BARGE passed by and I didn't get what it was. Yes, okay, I'm dense. Moving on..
Following a quick lunch, we walked around some more and I bumped into my Japanese tutors! Rather awkward and I was scared to death when a hand clamped down on my shoulder and she went, "WHA". While leaving, Gaby took pictures of the ducks and the pond. For more pictures, please visit her
LJ.
We talked about motorcycles for a while then had a sudden run for the bus (#84) that didn't stop at the right place! But we ended up walking along West 4th. Gaby took us to a Candy shop where I bought poison and we stopped by Zulu's in which she went around looking for her music. We went by some other shop and bought some cards and random stuff.
We then bussed back to Downtown then took another bus to the Cupcake place! It was so PRETTY! We waited outside for Gaby's mother to come. She wanted to run across the street and take a picture of the shop, but I wouldn't have advised it because there were a lot of cars and traffic probably wouldn't have stopped for us....her. Haha, so I got a ride back to the skytrain station. I went home and tried the cupcakes, they were awesome. Really sweet, though!
yah, not a lot of pictures from me. All of them are on citrikacid's LJ.
This was what I thought was the most interesting from Downtown:
Enjoyed my long post? =) Good! Now comment so I can have something to read, too! (my icon lies. I want to hear from you, but people have been verbally talking to me too much today. My ears have fallen off.)
