I wonder... whatever it was that was controlling the unit we defeated - it called itself Claustrum - was stopped by what were apparently others of a similar or higher rank. We really have no idea what Silentium actually is. It could be a location name, an organization, a special military unit... and they or it want us alive.
That message it sent, asking the world's governments to surrender to it, would seem to indicate that they have some kind of purpose for us, but I can't be sure. They've obviously got superior technology, at least for now, so I can't imagine what that they want from us.
