Here is my first tutorial! Yay! It is very quick and simple. We will be going from this to 
It was made in Gimp 2.2, but should translate pretty easily. Please remember this is just a guide! Feel free to tweak, add on, take away, or do anything totally different! Use your own images, if you'd like.... it really doesn't matter! I would love to see any icons you've created from this, so please post them !
First: I cropped and rescaled the image to 100x100. Then I sharpened it 45%.
Second: I duplicated the layer and set it to "screen" 100%.
Third: I made a new transparent layer, filled it with #94ceed and set it to "burn" 100%.
Fourth: I made another transparent layer, filled it with #ed94b6 and set it to "multiply" 54.7%.
Fifth: I made another transparent layer, filled it with #70685d and set it to "overlay" 100%.
Last: I made another transparent layer, put the gradient Blue Green in it (it's originally in Gimp 2.2, so I'm guessing it's in other versions as well) and set it to "screen" 54.7%.
Yay! We're finished!
