Ysanne Isard first entered Milliways in the early stage of her career, while she still used the name of Edallia Monotheer. The name first came about to allow her escape the shadow of her Imperial Intelligence director father, and then later as a persona as a skilled field operative.
As Edallia, she was a young actress on-the-rise; she moved gracefully, both literally and through high society. She was blonde and dark-eyed (through it didn't do to look at her eyes too long; there was something not quite right about them), tall and athletic, and she always knew the right thing to say. She had her moments, but was not exactly going to be an astrophysicist. (She, to be entirely honest, drove Ysanne batty with impatience. Still, she was certainly not Ysanne, and that was the point.)
As Edallia, she was married with a child; it is unknown whether or not even her husband knew her true identity. When it was no longer convenient, she tossed the identity and returned to existance as Ysanne Isard.
