Independence Day came and went with little fanfare. Didn't do too much besides dodge fireworks and listen to the neighbors argue with each other about parking on the street in front of each other's houses. Every time a major holiday comes around, my parent's street becomes just a bit contentious.

The only "useful" thing that I got to do this weekend was see Superman Returns. Great movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brandon Routh makes a really good Superman, and seems to have the essence of Christopher Reeve in his acting. Kate Bosworth was a good Lois Lane too. Kevin Spacey wasn't event as wild as I expected him to be. He gave Luthor a maniacal and sadistic quality without going completely overboard.

So, returned to work today, expecting to find a ton of test-related issues to deal with. Much to my surprise, the test-related issues were nonexistent... or rather, I should say that they took a four-day weekend along with me, because they came back with me. A recurring software problem has once again presented itself... but I'm pretty sure that it's fixed this time.

My boss said that he'd like for me to finish my other test application project in the next couple of weeks so that we can release my test equipment to other people to use... Don't know if I can get it done in two weeks, but I'll have to try. Plus, I still have my driver software project to finish. Fortunately, it's almost done... I just need to do some more testing.

Got off work today, and it's raining for the first time in forever... Start the short drive home when I discover that my windshield wipers no longer work... I hope that maybe the wiper motor fuse is blown and not something more serious... I'll have to check tomorrow if it's not raining. Fix a few things on the truck, and something else goes out in the process. Can't win, I guess.
