When Shula's 1972 Dolphins horse whipped the Patriots 52-0, was he running up the score? How about when Ditka's '85 Bears had defensive tackle William "the Fridge" Perry run in a for a touchdown, in SB XX when they already led 37-3?

"Because someone else did, we should be allowed be poor sports" isn't an acceptable defense of their actions yesterday.
But that criticism aside, the Bears' and the Dolphins' actions are defendable. The Bears were up 34 points in the 3rd Quarter. Which is considerably different than being up 45 points in the 4th. Teams have come back from being down 32 in the 3rd quarter. And besides, I specifically gave the Pats a pass for the Eckle TD against the Cowboys, which is basically the same situation.
Miami: Miami only threw the ball 19 times in the entire game. And the starters didn't see any action in the 4th Quarter (which started 38-0). If Matt Cassell had driven the Pats down the field yesterday, and thrown a TD to Reche Caldwell, I wouldn't have written any of this.
What the Patriots did yesterday is the equivalent of sacrificing a runner to second in the 6th inning of a 10-0 baseball game. It can't be defended.

I just can't wait to relish in wait is hopefully an inevitable backlash. Football players are extremely prideful and the Patriots are going out of the way to embarass 16 teams this year. Good luck signing free agents when all your aging stars start fading.

See, I don't think that will happen either. Players like two things: Money and winning.
I'm more surprised that Sean Taylor didn't decide to call his own safety blitz on Sunday and put the crown of his helmet on Brady's chin. Somebody at some point this season is going to do that. It wouldn't surprise me if it's week 16 at home against the Jets in the game that Simmons is saying will be 77-0. I could Darrell Reivis coming off the end and breaking Brady's face. At that point 15-0 won't comfort team that will have to play the plyoffs without Tom Brady.

Whoever you are, you don't read very carefully.
I made certain that I didn't say "I hope" or "I would like to see" anything happen to Brady. I said that I could envision a situation where an opposing player got so pissed that they did something. At which point the Patriots might regret pissing people off and leaving Brady exposed.
And besides, you still have defended either the intelligence or the sportsmanship of leaving the starters in for the 4th quarter of a blowout.

Here's a novel idea... how about just BEATING the Patriots fair and square?
