I went to bed at 4:30am this morning because I read all night. North and South (by Elizabeth Gaskell), though slow to start, is most riveting in ending. It’s one of those gorgeous but frustrating love stories in which the characters (Margaret Hale and John Thornton) persist in making all the wrong decisions which lead them apart from each other, much to my existential angst. And it doesn’t let up on the anguish it causes the reader to the very last. Indeed, it’s only in the last three pages that everything is made right. I thought I was going to die before the end. Anyway, it was very good.

And I’ve just started Jane Eyre, which is also very pleasing, though I’ve only read two chapters. Very soon I shall have to stop reading these books. I’ve started to talk quite strangely as a result. >.<

Take The First Sentence (or 2) From The First Post Of Each Month Of 2005. That's Your Year In Review

January

*sigh*

The best summer ever is... well it's almost over. I can't believe how quickly time goes. I hate it. I hate the way everything keeps happening and time keeps moving on and things you want to last forever are over before you even realised they began.

February

Wow, I didn’t write once in February.

March

That's right, I'm a kinky bitch. *kinky-ness meme* I blame it on the fanfic.

April

Ok this was going to have a point, but now I think, so much more fun to do a random LJ spam... and a real update tomorrow... maybe, if I can be bothered. (Highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened. LIKE UFO SIGHTINGS.)

May

It’s 12pm and she’s still asleep, covers drawn up to her chin, a comfortable bundle of warmth. Coffee, toast, a shower and an hour later, she’s sitting at her desk, drowning in text books.

June

The Dolls are very good. Tis a most awesome album. BUY IT!!! BUY IT NOW!!!

July
It has been a very long few days. Yesterday was the WAAPA Auditions Masterclass, which was worth every cent. Very humiliating, but very valuable advice and information.

August

The Last Five Years is GOD. The Wild Party is SEX. Musical theatre is LOVE.

September

I am “studying” for my maths test.

October

Blah. I feel horrid. I have a headache. Not too sure why. Slept a lot. Then it occured to me: it's the apalling lack of caffeine and nurofen today. So I took some nurofen. I still don't feel any better. So it must be the caffeine.

December

Ah the benefits of holidays. No, I'm not talking about sleeping late or doing stuff with friends or getting really drunk (*snort*) or it being Christmas which means (1) I'm legal (as if anyone cares) and (2)PRESENTS. No indeed these pale in comparison to....CRAPPY TELEVISION!!!!!!

Oh and for fun:

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last Sunday I signed my organ donor card (28 points). Last month I didn't flush (-1 points). Last week I gave change to a homeless guy (19 points). In March I ate my brussel sprouts (1 points). In October I bought porn for flightof_icarus (10 points).

Overall, I've been nice (57 points). For Christmas I deserve an Easy-Bake Oven!

Sincerely,
icefrostedflame
