Ugh, you will kill me with this.
Absolutely gorgeous, sad but satisfying cos I wanted to see her angry, struggling against her decline, and Bill's "behaviour".

And here I thought it was going to be a piece about algae custard.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Thank you so much! That was the challenge, to make a fic about custard, but put it into the reality of the show. It remains to be seen how successful we were, lol. We really wanted to address Bill's drinking as well, because it wasn't handled at all on the show.

I'm so glad you pointed out that you wanted to see her angry--I think this was something that was neglected in the series, and that's a real shame. But then again, that give us such a great opportunity to take a stab at what we think happened. :)

It started as something about custard, but quickly became more than that, and I hope you continue to enjoy it. :)

The angst in this first chapter is like a living thing. You've given a lot of really great insights into what both Laura and Bill are going through, and I feel for both of them. Looking forward to seeing where you're going with this!

I'm so happy you feel for them. They're both going through so much at this point, yet they harbor most of it within themselves. It's painful to see them like this, but very real.

I've done the beta on this fic, so I can honestly say that this is a great fic to read as they're posting.

I think a chapter a day to savor is really the way to experience this story.

Unlike the other girls, I am way too impatient to wait until the whole lot is posted. So have read. I'm glad I did. It was amazing. I loved it all. It was sad. And insightful. And I don't really usually like sad angtsy stories but love Laura's reaction to his drinking etc. And I can't think of anything else sensible to say, other than it was amazing. (Although I'm not sure where the custard is coming into it? LOL!)

I loved this feedback... thank you for reading it by chapter. It's really how it was intended to be read. I think there would be too much to take in at once if someone sat down and tried to read all 20,000+ words.

Although I'm not sure where the custard is coming into it? LOL!
