So things are getting ugly and it’s interesting that Ellen seems to be the only sane one among the three of them, the only whose held onto her bearings. The way she sees through Laura is so dead on. Laura seemed to move through all of her bad choices thinking no one noticed unless she let them, but I can definitely see Ellen being onto Laura’s machinations in a big way.

The exchange between Laura and Bill about the nuke killed me. It’s such a departure from their in control, on top of things way of doing business and hammers home their state of mind and why they’re about to make such a big leap.

She was nothing.

Maybe this was what freedom felt like.This says so much about Laura’s life up to this point

She's the least emotionally involved of all of them. That's what makes her a very fine narrator.

Ellen's a forward little vixen, man! Makes you wonder why she decided to go for it, huh? (besides the fact that Laura's hot)

I came back to read this again, to be sure I hadn't imagined that you stopped where you did. And to be sure I hadn't missed any important details.

It does, actually. Laura's hot and Ellen thinks she needs a good frakking, so there's that. Maybe Ellen thinks it's the only way she'll get anywhere with Bill. Or maybe she cares about Bill and knows what he needs and this is her deliciously twisted attempt at matchmaking. Whatever it is, I have feeling we're going to find out.

I really love where you're going with this. Laura walking in on Bill and Ellen, even in what is only a moment of friendship, was so unexpected. The dynamics of Bill and Ellen having a longstanding relationship and Laura being on the outside right now, tantalizingly close to being part of it, are so unsettling in a good way.

I actually like to ship Laura with other man than only B. Adama but Baltar is for me the exception!

I kind of threw that curveball in there knowing it wasn't in the series but it's really a tribute to wishflsinfl's fic Here Falls Now, which she wrote for me in this ship swap (and I wrote her this fic in return). I loved the story so much that I wanted to work the idea into mine. And now you can't stop thinking about it, can you?? It's a tough sell... Baltar is not always the best guy.

Who do you like to ship Laura with other than Bill? I'd love to know because I also like thinking of her with others at times. Even though I ship her with Gaius sometimes I also ship her with early series Lee.

I can't wait to post the next chapter. But I will wait until tonight! :)

I actually started with Laura/Lee in season one. They had so many great scenes together. I will never understand why it ended so abruptly without any explanation.
And I’m a big fan of Laura/Adar, what an interesting relationship…so many possibilities. Contrary to other fans I did never have a problem with Laura being the mistress of the president!!! I do enjoy Laura/Zarek and even read a lot of great Laura/Cottle stories.

I can’t remember a Laura/Baltar story I actually liked, but I will give “Here falls now” a try, if you say it was good. I hope the affections will be very onesided or Baltar will look pretty stupid in the end!?!?!?!

Oh, yay, Laura and Lee. I agree with you on the abrupt ending. It seemed to happen to a lot of characters on the show. Maybe they had a different plan for Laura and saw that she and Lee had too much chemistry for their liking?

I do have a thing for Laura and Adar, too. I like to think they used to have a really good professional and personal relationship before things went downhill to where we saw them. :)

It's awesome you're willing to give the Baltar/Laura story a try. It's very Laura-heavy if you like that. I'm not sure if I'd call any of it affections... more related to circumstances. :)
