Oh dear - it did. It completely did. Never mind the fact that there IS a branch of the comic books focused on the original five X-men called First Class (I believe it recently ended), but the original five were supposed to be Hank McCoy (Beast), Warren Worthington III (Angel - who is introduced in the third movie instead), Bobby I-always-forget-his-last-name (Iceman), Scott Summers (Cyclops), and my favorite, Jean Grey. :) (Ladeedadeeda! Redhead love? What redhead love? XD) Wolverine and Storm came into the X-men much later in canon after these original five disappeared for a time on an island and were thought to be dead. LOL
