That's a good thought to have. I love Nicco; as silly as he is sometimes, he's got a good head on him.

To me, characters are like textures.. You know, you have the soft ones, the hard ones, the creepy feeling ones...

Nicco is definitely creepy. Not to mention, on a normal day he feels like Bill puking all over himself, except that he hasn't puked and is instead walking around whoring himself out. DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN THE GAETA, A? REALLY?

So, yeah, Nicco = Bill's Vomit + Whoring Around + Gaeta.. That's pretty frakking filthy. I didn't like him touching Brooke. Just not going to lie.

The texture thing makes sense. Was the thing that freaked you out most about Nicco was that he frakked Gaeta?

And also, does this mean you think it's ok for Brooke to whore herself out as Laura, but not Nicco to whore himself out as Adama?

I'm not upset or anything, you are of course entitled to your own opinion on Nicco, I just love talking about stuff like this.

I don't want you to lie. I'm finding this absolutely fascinating. Please keep being honest... and I can't wait to read other people's impressions of Nicco as well. It seems like, so far, they've run the gamut.

No, I think it's just him whoring himself out period. I don't know how to describe it. I mean, at what point does a man say that it's okay to degrade himself to the point of whoring when there are plenty of other things to do? Same thing with Brooke. Do I think it's okay? No, I don't think whoring is okay. I mean, I understand why they are doing it, but that doesn't mean it's okay.

On these ships, it's not the cosy setting of Galactica or Colonial One in which we're all surrounded by the awesome Adama and Roslin. To be one of the average normal citizens that aren't essentially under the Admiral's protection? Seems like a pretty scary prospect to me. To live in unstable and essentially chaotic times, and not know if you're going to live or die.

Nicco will never be Bill.

That makes sense. But I don't know how many other things there were to do. tjonesy and larsfarm77 were having an interesting discussion in the Chapter 4 comments about how more people should have/could have been interested in joining the military as civilians because the Fleet would have provided them with food and bunk. But I'm having a hard time grasping how many other professions there possibly could have been on the ships.

It would be horrific, living as a citizen on one of these ships, completely displaced. And I think chaos and horror and desperation can lead people to do things they wouldn't normally do, and to get stuck in those positions because there's nowhere else to turn.

No, he never will be. Nor will Brooke be Laura.

Also, really enjoyed reading your reasons for not liking Nicco. I personally think he's a victim of circumstance, but I respect your thoughts on this.

There's no doubt in my mind that Nicco is a victim of circumstance, none at all. I mean, I think that this last chapter cleared a lot of things because we realized that these two people weren't sleazy and whoring their whole lives. Instead, the end of the worlds brought them this.
