I went to go help Ohno with the girl. I positioned myself with my back against the wall. Ohno lifted her up and I took as much of her as I could into my arms. Ohno placed her legs so they were in front of me instead of tangled together. He then pushed himself up off the ground and assisted me. Once she was in a good position, we moved her to the couch. She had cuts on her face and arms and her pants were ripped and her legs bleeding in spots. She had short, curled red hair and looked like a foreigner.
“Satoshi…who is this?!” I yelled at him.
He plopped himself on an arm chair. “I have no idea. She asked if this was your house, I said ‘yes’ and then she fell on me!”
I rubbed my eyes. “Why me?”
“Believe me, buddy. If I knew I’d tell you.”

“Nino, what are you planning on doing with her?” MatsuJun asked.
“I don’t know…” I groaned into my hands. “She just showed up at my door.”
Sho was sitting on the edge of the couch, cleaning several of her wounds.
What was I going to do? I couldn’t hide her anywhere. The only thing I could do was keep her until she came-to and then ask her what she wanted with me.
“Oh crap, sun’s coming up. Gotta go!” Aiba said.
All of us yelled ‘bye’ as Aiba left, escaping the sun’s light.
MatsuJun sighed and laid down on the floor. “I’m too tired and hung over to do anything!”
“It’s your own damn fault!” I yelled to him.
“No, it’s your damn fault for making me drink!” he tried to argue back; his words slurring together.
Ohno was sitting in the corner of the room staring intently at her. It made me curious.
“Oh-chan, what’s wrong?” I asked.
“I feel like I know her. I can’t describe this feeling I have. I just feel like I’ve met her before.”
She stirred when Sho touched her face with the cotton ball. “Where…am I?”
“This is Ninomiya Kazunari’s home. Do you remember why you are here?” Sho asked her quietly.
She gasped, so loud that it made all of us hold our hung over heads, and leapt off the couch to me.
“Ninomiya-san! You need to listen to me!!” she shouted in my face.
How the hell could anyone have so much energy after getting cut up and fainting?!
“This is a matter of life or death!!”
“Okay, please calm down! You are making my head hurt.” I sat her back down on the couch and made her breathe deeply a couple of times before making her explain. When she regained her composure she started again.
“There are people coming for you…only they aren’t people! They are werewolves! And shifters!”
“Why would they be looking for me?”
“You killed their leader…why else would they seek revenge?” MatsuJun said from the floor. The girl nodded in agreement.
“Jun…” Sho growled.
“Could we start over? I don’t know who yo-“
“My name is Risa. 24, half Spanish, half Japanese, big fan of yours. Now, can we go?!” she said hastily, tugging on my arm.
Ohno got up and left the room. Curious, I followed him, but the girl’s obnoxious voice spoke up again. “The door is this way!”
‘And that’s where you’re going to go!’ I thought to myself.
I closed the door that divided the kitchen and living room, ignoring the annoying girl.

“Satoshi…what’s wrong?”
I saw him sitting at my kitchen table with his head in his hands. My house wasn’t that big so I assumed they could hear us from the other room.
“Kazu…I do know her.” He started to blush. I couldn’t tell if it was from the alcohol, his tan or if he was really embarrassed. I sat down next to him and rubbed his back with every intention of listening.
“She was the first person to know my secret.”
“Just who is she?!”
“She’s a werewolf. When I first started shifting it was the scariest thing in my entire life. It was a full moon then. When I was roaming around in my dog form, she found me as a wolf. But instead of having this feeling of hate towards her…it was like I got this feeling that she wanted to help me...You don’t want to hear about this…”
“No, seriously! Friends don’t keep secrets!” I started to sound childish but it was interesting to know some more about shifters. I knew so little to begin with.
“Well…when we transform, we can communicate with each other. It’s a strange thing but we talked and she taught me how to become an animal. Having four feet gets you places faster, but you get tired quickly. When I told her that, she told me to rest and I ended up falling asleep. The morning after, I was normal again, she was gone and I never saw her again.”
This troubled him for some reason.
Uncertain, I asked, “Are you sure it’s her?”
“She sent me a mental image of what she looked like all those years ago. Her hair was longer and a different color but I didn’t forget her face. I’ve wanted to thank her all this time.”
As long as I’ve known Ohno, he always forgot things, and he never remembered people or their names. My guess was that he must have had a strong attachment to her for him to remember. I was once again going off of his ability to trust people. Oh, how I hated it! It was always right!
“So now what?”
“We should follow her. If she’s right about the werewolves and shifters of Yokohama’s coven, we should move.”
“You’re serious about this, aren’t you? You trust her that much.”
He looked at me with big eyes. They were eyes that I couldn’t say ‘no’ to. I shook my head in disbelief. I thought I was done with the paranormal. Good bye, apartment!
