So, I guess if the title got your attention, I should start there, lol.
So, for all you people living in America, I'm sure that if you watch TV, you've at least heard of the show "WipeOut". It's a game show similar to some of the Japanese obstacle course game shows, i.e. Ninja Warrior (Sasuke), Unbeatable Banzuke.
Anyway, this maybe happened about a year ago, I came home from school one weekend and my parents, 2 of my 3 siblings and my aunt's family were all watching this show and I decided to watch it because well... sometimes it's funny to watch people fly off of a huge, bouncy, red ball. Well as we're watching this, my mom tells me that one of the contestants in the show, Matt Corrigan, AKA The Ginga Ninja, is actually a relative of mine. He is one of my grandfather's sister's sons. One of my mom's cousins called us to tell us that he was on the show which was how they started watching it. It was funny watching it because he actually won the show : D He won like... $10,000 or something like that.
Now, this past week, my mom and aunt had to go to NJ for a funeral because her aunt passed away. But guess who showed up? The Ginga Ninja, lol. So my mom and aunt got to talking to him about it and from what I've heard, he's a REALLY funny guy, lol. He said that some kid was on the plane next to him freaking out because he "was sitting next to the Ginga Ninja!!!" I think he gave the kid an autograph, lol. He also said that there was someone else who he jokingly took a picture with and gave a signature but then it kind of blew up a little bit and was really popular, lol. I don't find that it's a big deal because it's a relatively (I say relatively because I didn't even know about it until someone told me about it) unknown show that he just happened to win. Lol. But it's still kind of funny.
But he gave some advice, lol. He said that when he made the show, he started training for it, and he's very fit. But whatever training he did didn't really help him in the show just because he had no idea what it would be like. His advice (if you've ever seen the show) is to swim. Swim with lots of clothing and weight on and get out of the pool, get back into the pool, get out of the pool, get back in the pool, lol. It's just cool to me.
Ok, next story, lol.
Last weekend or maybe the weekend before that, there was a concert going on at this place near my house. It was Gretchen Wilson (a country singer), 3 Doors Down, and ZZTop (an old '60s/'70s band).
I'm not a fan of country music. There's just something about it that I don't like. But it's all my family happens to listen to now. It's crazy. I thought Gretchen Wilson sounded really good but I didn't entirely enjoy her. She could definitely sing though, so it wasn't all that much of a let down. When 3 Doors Down came on stage though...... UNF SO GOOD! They were *PERFECT* ♥
But, of course.... no concert is complete without beer. The concert started at 5:30 which means people had been drinking since 5:30, maybe even before. ZZTop got on stage at like... oh... 8:30. About there. As soon as they took the stage, I think I watched about 20 people be escorted out of the venue or be placed in handcuffs. One of the fights (in which someone was escorted out) erupted right next to where I was standing. Some bf/gf fight but seriously..... Scary shit man! I even watched 5 different staff members take down one man right behind us. My sister even said she saw someone doing cocaine. So drugs and alcohol.... wonderful.
Once those fights broke out, I was done. Shit got real, I'm out!
I thought it'd have more stories but I guess I don't................ Guess I'll leave it at that until I remember something....
