Can I commit?
Since it's the easist way to start a lj post, i'm going to steal something from someone elses blog.
Hello Livejournal land. It's been awhile.
I don't know what exactly motivated me to post again, but i guess quite a lot nothing much has happened to me since my last post.
Lets see, in chronological order i have seen various different films, Celebrated my one year anniversary with my eternally patient girlfriend Diabolo_devil, Graduat..
Ahh yes, that cockup. Went to get my results on results day and one of our lecturers hadn't (and still hadn't by the time graduation PASSED) finished marking two of the modules. Which meant that a *large* population of SSE couldn't get their final number crunch. For most people this didn't matter too much, since only about 10 of us actually did Graphics I and Graphics II. So for them, 5% isn't that much. It's really not going to tip your grade unless you were borderline and up for consideration anyway.
For me though, thats 20 credits. thats an entire grade boundary. My minimum score if i failed both was a 2:1, so as far as i am concerned thats my degree result. However, my average without those two modules is... 69.6%. So yeah, they litrally determine if i get a first or not. I graduated on the 6th of July.
I still have NO idea what classification i got. We haven't even had our degree certificates yet.
Erm, moving on, I've moved into a very cool house in reading with some friends, so expect to hear lots of bitching about Suigitsune. The place is amazing, and has been done up with mod cons. The only reason the rent isn't £300+ a month is because the area around it isn't quite so desirable and its stranded on the one way system.
Pointless gaming reference : I've been reading http://bannable-offenses.blogspot.com/, which is the blog of someone who works as a GM for FFXI. It's a lot like reading a strange cross of TechTales and/or The Bastard Operator From Hell. Clearly a lot of it is fiction (hating players so much as to not only ban them but then report them for credit card fraud) but its definatly interesting watching this poor sod try and deal with the mountain of stupid that comes his way on a daily basis. A favourite quote of mine is

"You have been found guilty"
"Of What?"
"Crimes against eyesight. How do you plead?"
"You've already found me guilty!"
"What can i say, Justice is efficient here."
Also started taking part in "Vampire : The Requiem" LARP games! Sadly i'm getting accused of being emo now because of this, though i walk tall knowing i have yet to done false teeth and talk about draining mortal's blood.
Yet. ;)
Finally, i'll close by saying that for my Sister's birthday this year she has requested that i make her a rather... unusual gift. Suffice it to say that its a "Quote of the day" program cenetered around the silly catchphrases, nicknames and sounds she associates with one of our beagles. After programming something that on startup plays a random insane sound effect ranging from (and i kid you not, this is how my mum described the file when she recorded my sis doing it) "High pitched Squealing noise", "Look he's a bananna dog" to full on "moooOOOOOooo" sounds... my sanity starts to wear thin. If it wasn't for the random Cute-Beagle-Picture™ thats displayed along with it, i couldn't imagine why ANYONE would want this, much less as a present. Sisters.
Anyway, i'll close this with the spirit that i'll continue to update for a while, and a link to the latest genius creation from MacHall (if only finding a job was that easy!).
