Lawrence.com Movie Listings/Reviews

I am a frequent visitor of Lawrence.com, and overall I highly approve of their site. It is easily accessible, well set up, and very informational. In a matter of minutes I can find out what events are happening around town, the drink specials for any given day, and what restaurants are currently open, among other things.

Another service I use at Lawrence.com is the movie listings because you can get both Liberty Hall and Southwind's show times on one page. However, I am a little peeved about how they set up each film. I clicked on Paris Je T'aime, for example, hoping to read a summary of the movie to help me decide if I was interested in seeing it. Instead, I find a movie review that immediately colors my opinion of the film.

If I wanted a review, I would've searched for one. Why can't they just list summaries that neither convince you to hate or love the film before you've even seen it? Am I alone on this?

This probably stems from my hatred of movie reviews in general. I don't understand the appeal of basing my movie-going decisions on someone else's viewing. Maybe this speaks to my lack of taste for good movies, but I really don't care. If the content of a movie interests me, I'll go see it. Joe Schmo from Lawrence.com's opinion shouldn't come into play.

From now on I'm looking up movie show times elsewhere.
