we've been home from kihei for a week and i can most definitely say that it was my most favourite vacation ever.
we spent every morning on the beach, drinking chilled hibiscus green tea (me) and ginger lemonade (r). we stayed in a condo that was about a three minute walk away (i think, i never knew the exact time) that had two bathrooms, in-suite laundry and a dishwasher (luxury!!!) we spent our afternoons either by the pool or hiding from the heat, and the evenings watching the sunset/eating shave ice/meandering around kihei.
r got the most beautiful forest scene tattooed on his left shoulder and i got a mandala henna'd on my belly.
our skin is still so tanned. it was so great.
and then we came home and into baby focus.
last tuesday, two hours after coming home from hawaii, we had our midwife appointment.
wednesday night was our first childbirth preparation class, and thursday night was my first prenatal yoga class.
thursday, friday, saturday and sunday are my airport shifts in which i try not to die from boredom or buy a second coffee (so far so good).
upon my sister's suggestion (who just had her second baby yesterday! camille michelle/i can't wait to meet her) i've been starting my research on baby items i will want/need and making a registry. i've never made a registry before. it felt pretty surreal getting an email letting me know items on my list have been bought. super weird and exciting.
baby totally had a growth spurt this past week too. like all of a sudden i'm getting a foot in my ribs and my built-in belly shelf is almost complete.
cravings lately have been for slurpees or shave-ice, coconut curry, peanut butter and jam on toast, and key lime flavoured anything.
oh and binge-watching modern family.
tonight r and i are doing a potluck dinner with some flight attendant friends who have generously offered us their baby's no longer needed crib.
i'm excited for red velvet cheesecake (our contribution), for dinner, for a glass of wine, and to set up the crib when we get home.
