This week is another week on why to get a movie pass.
1. Confucius
Reason to catch: To see Chow Yuen Fatt act as Confucius sans the Hidden Tiger Crouching Tiger style. I want to see how a A grade Mainland Chinese female director, Hu Mei, whose previous works on Qing Dynasty politics, dish out an epic on one of the world talked philosopher.
This film has a controversy: it is depicted that in the film, Confucius and the Concubine of the Ruler of Wei (卫) like each other. That riled the sentiments of Confucius descendants.
Also, my mother is super interested. So will bring her to her favourite teen haunt, The Cathay, to catch this movie.

2. Just Another Pandora Box
If another seen Stephen Chow's A Chinese Odyessy will know, the very same director brings us this after 15 years. A lot of Chinese and Hollywood films will be spoofed. As like Hong Kong comedies, it will featured many of their own artisetes, which is very rare now. For the past few years, Chinese films garnered to mainland China, featuring Hong Kong-China crew.
Let's hope the film business executive tries to keep things fresh.
