ABILITIES: Psychic Powers: Emma Frost possesses telepathic abilities matching those of Charles Xavier is an Alpha level mutant. Cited as a "World-class telepath" and a "Psi of the Highest Order" capable of extraordinary telepathic feats which include:
broadcasting and receiving thoughts; Emma is able to pick up on psychic 'calls' and send messages directly to the mind of those she wishes. This is limited by distance and barriers in the mind she broadcasts too.
mild mind-control; Emma has displayed abilities in controlling actions, reactions and thoughts of those around her, gaining her favour and power. By implanting her will in other people she can control them to the point of carrying out actions they normally would not themselves. Emma cannot, however, force anyone to put their lives in mortal danger. It is also completely possible for her to lose the control of the person mid-way through an action as the will power or stimulus around can affect her ability to keep control.
altering perceptions and memories; a stem off from her mind-control, Emma can alter the memory of certain instances in order to suit herself. She can also lock memories from the conscious mind. This is not always permanent, and the will of the person affected can hinder Emma's ability to alter these memories or perceptions.
projection of offensive blasts; this creates a blast of psionic energy causing mental pain of unconsciousness. This is a concentrated burst of power straight into another mind is her most powerful psi attack depending on the force she puts behind it.
Inorganic Diamond Form: Emma's secondary mutation, the ability to transform her body into a flexible inorganic diamond form, offers her a range of secondary abilities aside from her telepathic powers:
superhuman strength; in diamond form, Emma's physical strength is increased to superhuman levels. At her peak, she is able to lift approx. 2 tons.
superhuman stamina; while transformed, muscle tissues become infinitely more efficient than the organic musculature of a normal humans, or most other organic beings for that matter. Emma's muscles produce almost no fatigue toxins during physical activity, granting her almost limitless superhuman stamina, or at least until or unless she is forced to resume her normal state.
superhuman durability; the diamond form renders Emma highly resistant to most forms of physical injury. She is able to resist great impact forces, such as being repeatedly struck with superhuman force, without being injured. Her body is also resistant to temperature extremes, able to withstand temperatures as cold as -320 Fahrenheit or as hot as approx. 7,362 Fahrenheit before her form beings to melt. Frost is also self contained while transformed, requiring no food, water or oxygen.
LIMITATIONS: As with most telepaths, Emma's powers occasionally cause a backlash of power. These are known as psychic headaches and can lead to extreme pain for the telepath, sometimes leaking out to affect others.
Additionally, for Emma's diamond form, she must transform all parts of her body, rather than selectively transforming certain areas and can remain in this form for an in-determined amount of time. If she is rendered unconscious, Frost's body will automatically transform into its normal state, leaving her vulnerable, although rendering her unconscious in this state is difficult. This transformation also alters Frost's personality, causing her to become rather cold hearted and to lose her empathy for others.
Emma cannot access her telepathic abilities while in her diamond form.
SKILLS: Emma has a keen intelligence, which has often been encouraged. She is a ruthless business woman, running her fathers empire and controlling Frost Industries now. She is also the founder of a back-up school for the Xavier programme, the Massachusetts Academy being funded and run by Emma and Sean Cassidy, aka, Banshee.
Emma shows great skill with numbers and strategy and has been trained in field leading for her own X team.

WARDROBE: Emma has a soft spot for fashion, she does like her labels, but understands the need for practicality. When not in her uniform, Emma settles mostly for jeans and tank tops. Sticking to the more form hugging clothes that she likes, Emma's only luxury comes in the form of designer shoes.
As a member of Xavier's school and then faculty, Emma's dress sense is slightly conservative, although it hugs her body nicely.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Every contour to Emma's body is carefully mapped. She is health conscious and has dabbled in plastic surgery to an extent. However Emma trains just like the other X-Men and keeps her body toned and in shape that way. From the training however, there are some marks. Emma has a slight scar on her rib cage from an accident in the danger room. Following a botched mission against Sentinels, Emma suffered a laceration to the back of her neck which also scarred.
Life as an X-Man has also caused numerous broken bones; her right hand pinkie, her left shoulder dislocating, three ribs and her right collarbone.
Emma also has a tattoo of an iced rose on her hip.

PERSONALITY: Emma Frost was raised with power and wealth around her and looked set to be a rich young woman with a callous nature and cold heart. While surviving on the streets after she turned her back on her father, Emma was close to using blackmail and corruption to gain money from her father when Charles Xavier found her. Already skilled in using her telepathic powers, Xavier offered Emma a chance to learn more. Emma honed and improved her skills with iron clad determination and a drive to make the older telepath proud. With a previously troubled family life, Emma's projection of a father figure on to Xavier only intensified her will to do well.
She has a very dry-wit and is a very proud, she is rather vain but shows a compassionate side on occasion. While she is loyal to Xavier, Emma sometimes finds it difficult to follow his morals, believing more in the grey scale to life than Charles' black and white belief system. Emma sees the world in degrees of right and wrong, rather than absolutes, occasionally causing tension between her mentor and herself.
Education is very important to Emma, with a genius intellect and a savvy business sense, Emma took over her fathers empire following his death, running Frost Industries and maintaining the vast fortune of the Frost family. With the money, Emma founded and funded the Masschuestts Academy, a branch of the Xavier programme which she assisted in teaching.

HISTORY: Emma Frost grew up privileged, if unloved. She had three siblings, and a cold father. Her mother was despondent to her children and Emma's only friend in her childhood was her brother, Christian. Even at a young age, Emma learned to be cold and cunning, following her father's example. The only person that Emma was truly kind to was her brother.
It was in high school that Emma developed her mutant powers, discovering she could read peoples minds, she discovered that her teacher, Ian, believed she was beautiful and intelligent, after he drove her home one day, she kissed him. But Adrienne recorded it, and Winston used it to get Ian fired. With the internal backstabbing of her sister Adrienne and her father's underhanded tactics, Emma quickly learned the art of blackmail and sneaky deviousness. When her father saw that she was a lot like he was in his youth -cunning, ambitious and intelligent, he proposed that Emma would carry forth his fortune and empire. However, Emma was bitter and angry towards Winston for his dismissal of his gay son, placing him in a mental facility rather than accept that Christian was gay. Emma left her family, leaving the wealth and security of her father’s money and ended up homeless for a while.
It was on the streets that Charles Xavier found her, about to engage in questionable methods and motivations to secure money from her father. Xavier offered her something better and Emma took it. Attending Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Emma honed her telepathic skills under Xavier's tutelage. During this time, Emma was also drafted onto Xavier's aptly named X-Men, taking the codename 'Silencer' following an evening of joking and girl talk which led to her being dubbed with the name -supposedly thanks to her ice cold glare that rendered many people speechless.
During a mission in the Savage Land, Emma's telepathy went offline, along with the rest of the team losing their powers. It was during this mission that Emma realised relying on her powers was going to get her killed and she turned to Bishop -a visiting mutant from the future, for direction in hand to hand combat and learning how to use a firearm. A brief trip into the future with Bishop and the team led to Emma having a psychic backlash from a being called the Void. She was transported back to Xavier's where she remained catatonic for several weeks until she was jolted from the near comatose state and shifted into an organic construct of pure diamond.
This was how Emma discovered her secondary mutation.
During her training, learning how to shift into her diamond form and out of it, learning her limitations and the possibilities of her secondary power, Emma noticed that she grew cold and emotionless while in her diamond form. Xavier tried to persuade her to limit her use of the power, as it altered her personality and rendered her telepathy useless. Emma heeded the warning for the most part, but still trained with Bishop in hand to hand and utilised her diamond form as a defence.
When the team had to delve into space in a bid to help protect the Shi'ar empire, Emma used her diamond form to do battle with The Guardian -the Shi'ar's strongest warrior, in a bid to save the lives of four students. Emma's lack of need for rest and inability to truly feel while in her diamond form won the battle and saved the students lives. Emma started to doubt Charles' methods were the only way forward.
Upon return to Earth, Emma voiced a desire to teach, outlining a plan for a school in Boston. Setting everything up and inviting fellow team member Sean Cassidy to assist her in running the school, Emma briefly parted with the X-Men and turned her attention to the next generation of mutants. After the Academy was exposed as a school for mutants, Emma's sister Adrienne attempted to hurt Emma with the only thing she knew how. Parts of the Academy were rigged to explode, with Adrienne attempting to kill Emma's students. Five students died in the blast and Emma, in an act of revenge, shot her sister through the heart.
The guilt Emma felt over the death of the students, and the lack of remorse she felt for taking a life worried Charles. Although the school was rebuilt and reopened, Emma did not take a class and instead remained in Salem and rejoined the active X-Men team. Tending to use her diamond form on missions rather than her telepathy, Emma and Charles regularly butted heads over method, Emma's ideology changing and morphing with every day that passed following the death of her students.
Eventually, Emma was offered a place with the Mutant Right Enforcers. While the MRE were ultimately against Xavier's beliefs, Emma chose to accept the offer and stood down from the X-Men to join the group.
