I just watched 2046 with my roommates. I really liked it. My roommates didn't though, they thought it had a bad plot. I don't know, maybe it did, but i thought that it wasn't really a movie to be judged for plot, it was more of the feeling you got from it. It was about regret and the past. Just because the characters aren't nice to relate to, doesn't mean it's a bad film. it needs to be looked upon objectively, i think. i saw it as a romance. a true romance. it held room for fantasy and truth, and apparently one is easily subsituted for the other...although "love is not to be substituted", did that mean love never changes? but i thought the whole film was about all the ways love changed....except all the dumb bitches did always cry..that didn't change. the main character was a bit cocky, but seductive, he knew how to play his cards right...and in the end the cards were played to him. sweet movie i definitely suggest it to everyone. (lizz-only person who probably reads this-watch it!)
