We have made it to six weeks without me going nuts or chucking either child out the window. To me that's success, haha.
I think this may have been due to 3 reasons -
1) since Maggie's birth was a scheduled csection, we planned for my blood disorder and I was able to get a spinal instead of having to undergo general anesthesia - which greatly eased my recovery compared to that with Edge. I'm talking night and day here.
2) Maggie is a better sleeper than Edge was as a newborn, so I can get 2-4 hour chunks of sleep instead of 1-2 hour snippets. Sleep is so very very important.
3) this may sound gross but I had ppd with Edge (probably bc of #1&2) and didn't want to again so I had my placenta encapsulated. I never got a "burst of energy" like I've heard other people having but I thought it didn't hurt things either.
I still need more sleep, and can't nap during the day because it always turns out that Maggie's fussy or needs to be fed or I have to pump while Edge is napping, but I know things will get better.
My face is still paralyzed though. It's been 2 months and no improvement. I've been going to physical therapy twice a week where they put electrodes on my face to work out my muscles a bit so they don't atrophy, but no progress on independent movement. I'm bummed. I think I might go see an ENT to see if anything can be done.
Got other things weighing heavily on my mind, like money problems... But at least my mom and sister get here in a week for Christmas. So yay to that. :)
