I just concocted this.
In the summer it's difficult to believe that winter will ever come.
When friends are here they'll always be here, even if they're gone tomorrow.
All laughs and smiles are forever.
All eyes shine with the soft glow of youth.
All times are rollercoasters you don't have to wait in line for.
All nights are full of steam and whispers.
But it doesn't last.
The people that you love go away.
The cold chill of loss creeps in as all the colors flash
From green to brown, and in an instant
Fall is upon us, we're separating.
And we whisper promises we never keep.
We lie awake while we never sleep.
We stare at walls and never weep.
Then we forget the warmth of the sun on our bodies.
We forget how to sweat and smile and run and laugh.
Gray skies close on cold nights
And we'll never be warm again.
