Hours spent packing - fuck me now; Miles driven - 740; Money spent on moving - roughly 500 bucks; State of mind - fraged.
Tina and her future hubby Joey helped me move the majority of my stuff down to Fort Pierce yesterday. She was awesome and drove my car behind the moving truck so we would have a way back to Tally. We left at 8:AM and got to the leasing office at 1:45, and we got everything moved in in about and hour and fifteen minutes.
I had a war with the dryer that involved two trips to Home Depot: 1 - to get some tin snips to cut the dryer duct, then an hour of getting the dryer into place only to discover that the plug shape didn't match the outlet in the apartment. Thus trip number two - found out that one can replace the power cord on the dryer, the kit was purchased (the appliance guy sat me down and explained what I would need to do then had me repeat it back to him - awesome dude!), and a set of hex-nut drivers to open the rear of the dryer. 15 minutes after getting back to the apartment, the new cord was installed, the dryer was in place, and a test run didn't blow the building up. I washed something just because I could.
We celebrated a Red Lobster with fish and alcohol, and then crashed. We slept in. It was glorious.
The drive back was a study in why southerners like NASCAR as driving today was like jockeying for position on the Daytona race track.
People are weird.
