Sooo... How's it going...?
Yes, it's been a stupid long time since I've updated. My last post was last semester's rantings about my fight with my sister. :P
But that was last semester.
This semester...IS MY LAST SEMESTER. (Until grad school, which is a few years off.) HOLY SHIT. I'M GRADUMATATING IN MAY. MEANING I'LL BE DEEMED EDJUMACATED.
Like...seriously? I can't believe I'm almost finished with my bachelor's degree. And I'm only 10 units away from doing it, haha. Everyone I've told about how many units I'm taking...basically hates me, with love, of course. :P
It's so AWESOME. Not only am I totally enjoying my classes (TWO CLASSES: Scottish Romanticism and Victorian Mysteries. HELL to the YEAH. /fistpump/), but I'm also doing an independent study, for which I get to read all of Dante's Divine Comedy. SO MUCH FUN.
And the best part?
Wait for it...

FOUR DAY WEEKENDS, BABY. WITH A DAY OFF IN THE MIDDLE ON WEDNESDAYS.
HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D 8D
In other news, I've also been accepted and confirmed as a City Year Chicago corps member. Meaning I get to move to Chicago! Woo-hoo!
CY is an AmeriCorps-affiliated service program that hires 17-24 year olds to become...leaders, I guess. :) I'll be tutoring/mentoring students who are considered at-risk for being off-track from graduation, and I'll also be taking part in community revitalization projects with other corps members. From what I can tell, I'll be working in the southside of Chicago city. I'm so EXCITED!
It's a 10-month program, but I may reapply to be a senior corps member (someone who has served at least one term, and is signed on for another one). I'm hoping to move out there during summer--probably around mid-July.
I'm considering working at Anime Expo 2010, like I did back in '08. I had a lot of fun as a staff member--especially since I get bored just as an attendee since there's not enough panels or things that draw my interest. Being a staff member means I can go to the Main Events I'll enjoy, get my food/boarding paid for, and that leaves me enough time to attend a panel/the exhibit hall between shifts.
Other than all that, nothing else exciting really happening on my end. Except for my cousin's wedding that took place over winter break. Meh. It was fun. 'Nuff said. :P
Time to go finish cleaning! Blaaaahhhhh. XP
Have fun, kiddies!
