It's that day again....

Dec 06, 2006 06:56

Today marks the 17th anniversary of the "Montreal Massacre". On December 6, 1989 at the l'École Polytechnique, 14 women were gunned down and killed because of their gender by a man claiming to seek revenge of feminists. December 6th is also Canada's National Day of Remembrance and Action On Violence Against Women. Please remember that violence against women happens everyday, and we need to take action to stop it. Please start by remembering these 14 women:

Geneviève Bergeron, 21

Hélène Colgan, 23

Nathalie Croteau, 23

Barbara Daigneault, 22

Anne-Marie Edward, 21

Maud Haviernick, 29

Barbara Maria Klucznik, 31

Maryse Leclair, 23

Annie St.-Arneault, 23

Michèle Richard, 21

Maryse Laganière, 25

Anne-Marie Lemay, 22

Sonia Pelletier, 28

Annie Turcotte, aged 21.
