So I've been talking via email to the very nice lady in charge of reservations out at Chena Hot Springs (where the Ice Museum is) and have found out that the Ice Museum is available on our date (yay!) so I plan on reserving it on Tuesday (after pay day lol).
With the reception room however, we apparently have some issues. The reception room I'd like to use (the Aurora room) cost $250 and according to their website can hold 75 people, which is about how many guests we're expecting for our wedding. But, according to Diane, the Aurora Room does NOT hold 75 people ad we'd have to use the Arctic Room which will hold up to 200 people and costs $600.
Do you think it would be ok to wait on booking a reception room until we know more from our guests? Does it make sense to wit till we know if we'll have 100 people or 50 before we book a reception room? Or should we err on the side of caution and book a room that is potentially 4 times too big for our needs, even if it is an added $350 we were not expecting to spend?
And speaking of the Guest List- Ours is getting slightly out of hand. When I asked my Grandmother for addresses for very specific people, I got 4 or 5 other addresses (10-15 more people) who are now on the potential guest list- people whose names I BARELY recognize, let alone actually know or have seen since I was 4. Our total guest list is now up to 131 and I know for a fact some people will not be coming, but it still worries me as the limit for the Ice Museum (without going up another $250 in price) is 100 people. Am I completely off the wall for having a slight hissy fit?
Thanks everyone :)
