FEASTIVAL 2004

Dec 03, 2004 22:01

per deb's advice i will start my update now b/c i won't feel like writing all of it later. haha. anyways, nothing really happened this week.

last night: Y100 Feastival with marissa & dana! it was freakin awesome! i will be obnoxious and write all about it. *grin* any quotes from bands are probably paraphrased as i probably don't remember them exactly.

okay: our seats (facing the stage) were on the right side. we were row Q or something and had the side aisle seats. turned out to be better than i thought.. a little farther away than i would have liked but still okay. riss and i got shirts, of course! (see riss' journal for more info: http://www.livejournal.com/users/eclectic09/17264.html)

Silvertide 1st group to go on was a local philly band that is starting to get big. they are just straight rock n' roll. i loved them. (i actually just bought their cd tonight. hehe) anyway, the singer kept jumping in the pit and standing up among the crowd (and on top of them) and jumping off things... *sigh* guys and their rock n' roll fantasies. haha. the guitarist (don't know his name right now) had the most wonderful solo ever... *sigh* i love musicians... after their set they went into the lobby and met with people. all of us praised the hot guys and got some autographs. the singer's voice reminds me of chris robinson's. (from the Black Crows in case you don't know)

The Hives missed the beginning of their set b/c we wanted to meet Silvertide. they were the only group i really didn't care about, but they converted me. they are so fucking entertaining. they are really fun to watch/listen to. the singer is such a psychotic egomaniac. maybe it's b/c he's swedish? lol. you'd have to see them to get the full effect. i do believe he liked saying "Philadelphia" a little too much. "you guys look a little lonely out there. move closer. i have a lot of love to give around." he too & one of the guitarists continued the tradition of jumping into and around the pit.

Franz Ferdinand i was excited to see them b/c i kept hearing how good they are in concert. they are too adorable and liked pastels a lot. haha. anyways, they put on a great show. i would probably get their cd as well. of course the big hit was "Take Me Out." they had a little fun with the american audience (they are scottish) by translating things each other were saying. cute: "everyone has a beautiful person waiting to come out."

Jimmy Eat World was really good. i have seem them once before at a Feztival and they had the same energy. they played a lot of songs from the last cd they put out (of course b/c all the songs were on the radio) and some from the new cd. marissa wasn't too fond of them. dana & i were all excited b/c we knew words to more songs! wahoo! the band dedicated the set to some guy in the pit. funny stuff. they also had some nice mini fiberoptic (sp?) trees for the atmosphere.

Good Charlotte seem to always put on a good show. okay, i've only seen them once before but that was their own concert and too was freakin' cool! they sounded perfect and are hysterical. so, yeah, the whole concert the 3 of us kept saying how SOMEONE should go down our section b/c it was totally empty. all of a sudden who is walking & singing past us but Joel Madden himself (of course blocked by 3 bodyguards). he headed up to behind our section and stood up on a bar so everyone could see him. of course none of us had the cameras out. damn! let me just say... i am about the same height as him. crazy huh? lol. anyways, at one point during their set Benji decides to admit to something (me and a few people around said that he was gay)...

"I have something to admit to you. I want to have sex with each and every one of you! But I don't have enough time for that right now. Close your eyes and listen to this song..." *sigh* Such a tease... bastard! they played a lot from the last couple albums (i knew all the songs.. yay!).

i really had an awesome time. hanging out with riss & dana was fun. every single group sounded different, which was great. it's not often you get to be around 5 very different groups. after the show, i took dana home to south philly and riss and i got home around 1230 or something.
