It's "How's the baby?" or "How's Fiona?".
And I'd say, "She's doing great.". For the 2 and a half month milestone, I guess I can say she's doing great. Crying now exists for only two things and can be differentiated by pitch for the various reasons: "I'm tired! Put me to sleep!" or "I'm hungry!".
While still quite sleep deprived, I'm getting used to the rhythm. And bless her soul, the little one learns all by herself (because when I intervened with tried 'training methods to regulate sleep', it messes up her rhythm and she sleeps less at night) to sleep a stretch of 6 hours at night. So now I wake up at night once instead of twice, and you know no idea how I value that extra stretch of precious sleep.
The little one has also learnt to smile frequently (while last time it used to be a random thing), especially when I smile at her or when I talk to her or greet her in the morning. Her smile is huge and crinkles up her eyes when she does so.
So all in all, those 2 things have made me one proud mummy.

And while I'd may have gotten stressed out last time, I've learnt that my health is the most important so I can always be there for her. So though I'm due back at work in 2 weeks (!!!), I've handled it with much more finesse then I would have expected myself to.
Anyway, been back to the office to check out the changes. Many of my favourite bosses moving on to higher posts on a regional level instead of purely a country level. And on one visit back, I got myself an offer to follow my boss to regional office. Sure I may not have as many staff, or any staff for that matter, but it's a higher level in the job scale for me. So I'm really excited!
New role so new clothes too. Just 2 or 3 sets because this mummy is still 10kg overweight!
Pst. Don't listen to those doctor's advice. Breastfeeding doesn't help you lose weight - they forgot to mention that the exceptions lie when you put on more than the recommended 13 kg during pregnancy (like my 20 kg) and when you are fed daily large amounts of food because of the older generations' belief that "you must still eat for two when breastfeeding".
Now all I need is a new diary and more practise on carrying my bag, documents / laptop and breastpump accessories.
