I didn't bring my camera, I just didn't have the energy to be lugging it around. I regret it now though because there were many great costumes on Saturday especially.
Friday: Since I didn't have any new cosplays I just decided to follow along with the theme which was "Pirates" of any kind, so I threw together sort of a cyberpunk pirate and I think it looked okay. New black corset, fishnet top under that, arm warmers, my old black bondage skirt, fishnet thigh highs with garter belt and combat boots. Also added my new black/blue wig with a black scarf wrapped around it and my goggles on top.
When we got to the hotel we discovered parking would be FIFTEEN DOLLARS! Ugh, so we started putting loonies/toonies into the machine and when we hit $9 the coin bit jammed, seems like someone had stuck a tiny rock in there and it had come down. So we hit cancel. Then notice a bit on the machine that says NO REFUNDS! UGH! James called the parking companies number but it was just some stupid automated thing saying they'd fix it tomorrow. We spoke to front desk but they wanted a receipt...which of course we did not have because the machine FUCKED UP. And to make it even worse, we noticed a sign a bit late saying if we paid for V-Con we got free weekend parking passes...
Anyway, after that crap everything went well. Saw lot of friends, most I only see at cons which is kind of sad. I didn't really do any panels except one on budget prop making which was interesting and FRANKENSTUFFIES~!
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about tearing apart cute plushies and in the beginning I felt so bad....plus the people running it had brought in bags of their childhood toys for us to do it to o_o I was thinking OMG WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE? I still have ALL of mine, I can't imagine getting rid of them T_T
We sat at a table with a couple new people we'd met in the lineup and got to work, did I mention I hate sewing? D: I think when everyone was done, James had made the best one. I still need a photo of it so I will update this entry with it when I get it. Here are my two:
----
Artists Alley and the Vendors Room was awesome as usual, lots of very cool things for sale like a LARGE crocheted Dalek for $200 and beautiful costumes/jewelry. Lisa was in there as well selling her pretties so I got to sit and talk with her every so often. Saw a dress I want to pick up (I'm going to go into the actual store to try it on since I wasn't going to take off my outfit...too hard). And a couple necklaces.
Trying to eat was annoying, a small sandwich cost me $9. While it was fresh and good, it was not worth that. I loved the venue but if they have it there next year we will just pack food to bring. I did love that the hotel had tables with lots of glasses and several metal jugs of ice water all over the place. This saved me because it was the most I'd done since surgery and I was getting exhausted and hot easy. Whenever I felt dizzy I could just grab a glass and sit down. No having to wander far, line up or carry it with me. I really hope they hold it here again.

Saturday: Didn't sleep well because my feet hurt, I put on my white puffy top, new pink corset which is just plastic boning so I probably looked bigger than I am and a new pink wig I'd bought.
The wig was super itchy to me and I couldn't see very well because the bangs were too long. If I'd had time I would have gone to see my hair stylist and had her trim it up. I only got 3 hours of sleep and James wanted to get there early so I figured I could wander into "Colouring hour" (It did say all ages...) to kill time because my stuff didnt start till later. But I ended up seeing that there was still space for the belly dancing so I signed up for that. I'm not supposed to be doing anything too physical but I figured I could go slow and half ass it. The entire session was 3 hours but it didn't feel like it as we went slow and she talked to us a lot about belly dancing which was nifty. She even brought jingly belts for us.
It didn't hurt me at all but I got exhausted fast which was annoying and had to sit down a few times to rest. But I got through it without tearing any stitches.
People kept taking pictures of Amanda and I together, not sure why they wanted any of me since I didn't feel like I was wearing anything special but I'm looking forward to seeing some if they get posted.
A girl came up to me saying she loved my wig and asked where I'd gotten it from, I told her I was selling it for $20 and she offered to buy it~! But I had to tell her I'd bring it the next day because my hair would have looked horrible underneath had I taken it off there.
Made this at the eye patch craft panel
Lots of beautiful things in the art gallery, which was a bit difficult to find at first, someone sent me out the door by registration and told me to follow the rainbow feet, I didn't see anything, gave up and came in. I am blind because they were like 2 feet away from where I gave up.
Watched the costume contest, there were some really great entries and I was happy Amanda won for the category she entered but I missed what it was.
Wandered into the dance later to take a peek but didn't stay long, I was getting tired and so was James so we just came home.
Sunday: Got to con about 10 AM, I went straight into one of my panels and as I was sitting there waiting for it to start I couldn't even remember what it was for and wondered if I was even in the right room. But I was, it was Fractured Fairy Tales and would have been better had I not been so half asleep. After that it was off to one on Cosplay Make-up, most of which I already knew but I learned a couple new things and the panelists were great. Skipped my next one which had to do with photography because Amanda was getting ready to go home and I wanted to hang out with her before she left.
Also met some one I sort of knew...just by sight for years, first saw him at the ren faire in 2007. We've now added each other on FB.
I stopped by the Venus & Mars booth to see about picking up some hair colour that was as close to my wig as possible, people kept thinking it was my real hair and thought the colour looked good on me so I asked. The girl asked me what colour it was, I pointed to the wig and said "this colour" she asked what colour again and I realized she was asking me what colour I'd dyed my hair with. I mentioned it was a wig, she said it looked pretty high quality to be that real looking. They didn't have the shade I wanted there so I'll have to make a trip downtown this weekend.
We left con about 5pm because James had errand's to run and work the next morning and I had to rush to Changeling downtime. I didn't even have time to change out of my costume but I didn't care. Didn't get to do what we went for because the story derailed but after it I made this: (LONG STORY XD)
Sadly so many people at the con were SUPER SICK with like the worst cold ever...it was like the plague going around there. I'm thankful I haven't gotten sick yet but I will be amazed if I don't come down with it. Today = rest. Probably going to piss someone off because there are too many things happening on the 26th and I can only go to one :X
