Will was born into Edensphere about the same time that Handmaiden was. She met him working at medical when she picked up some pain-relievers for the strange voices that were being heard, and his profession and manner immediately struck her as quite familiar. She admired and was perhaps a little envious of how quickly he had found somewhere to fit in Edensphere, and the two of them struck up a comfortable friendship. When he told her of his memory and love for his sister, it reminded Handmaiden in an unpleasant way of her own troubled relationship with her sisters. She offered to teach him self-defense and he took her up on it. He is one of the people to that she's closest to in Edensphere, and one of the few she feels comfortable discussing her past with. He reminds her of Mical the Disciple in his thoughtful nature, gentleness and profession as a doctor, but not in his lack of combat ability. He revealed to her the location of the Library, and while she isn't glad he hid it from her she can understand his reasons for doing so. She was extremely angry when he died, both at him and the Tree, and her discovery of his mantis-eaten body sent her briefly skittering down the path to the dark side. He didn't remember any of it, which is why she didn't punch him when he was reborn.

Simon's sister. She's as baffling as she was when she was Serenity, and once again Handmaiden made quiet excuses to herself to put off meeting her, although by now she makes an effort to speak to the girl over the journals and has met her in-person. She was also quite disturbed to learn that Qi had broken into her house and investigated it solely due to her friendship with Simon, although there didn't seem to be any malice behind it. Handmaiden doesn't understand her, knows that her brain was damaged and knows that she can read minds.
stonyfaced (Sam Vimes)
❉❉❉❉
When he put out the notice that the Guard were hiring, Handmaiden volunteered immediately, and Stoneface decided to spar with her to judge her abilities. Handmaiden found the fight fascinating and exhilarating, almost forgetting the reason behind it until it was over. She sees Stoneface as having a strangely contradictory nature. There are no rules to how he fights, and each moment of battle is a moment of survival, yet he's committed himself to maintaining peace and order in Edensphere. She has also felt the powerful darkness and anger that he has within him, but also the unbreakable chains that he uses to control it. Handmaiden admires both his fighting style and his firm commitment to justice and doing right, and belives that he will always have that commitment even though there is a capacity for great evil in him.

Handmaiden's relationship with Juliet is a bit of a complicated one. When the fourth floor revealed a memory of him as a sadistic murderer, Handmaiden nearly flew into a righteous rage, but Kermit's more reasonable reaction and Juliet's obvious distress at the knowledge calmed her down somewhat. Later, Handmaiden and Juliet discussed the memory. Juliet told her that he did not wish to be that person again, and Handmaiden decided that she would keep a watch over him to help him fight the darkness and to prevent him from hurting others if he fell. Unfortunately, Juliet went mad after the fire and attacked the Tree, nearly killing Fred in the process and dying himself, something for which Handmaiden felt as though she should have prevented. Handmaiden met with him after his rebirth and they spoke of the darkness again. Handmaiden likes speaking to Juliet on a conversational, everyday level, but the knowledge she holds of him is always present.

Handmaiden doesn't quite understand Koi. She sparred with him shortly after she arrived in Edensphere, but though he had considerable skill he was also very reluctant about it, and that wasn't something that she could figure out. He chose to work in the tea shop rather than find something to suit his skills, but he's also very content there. He seems to get a great deal of enjoyment out of making other people feel happy, as well as having ordinary, everyday conversations with Handmaiden and giving her cookies. She likes him a great deal.
felinemystique (Yoruichi Shihoin)
❉❉
The captain of the Guard and Handmaiden's former boss. Though Handmaiden admires Bastet's strength and considerable prowess in battle, she both doesn't understand and disapproves of her sense of humor on occasion. Which isn't to say that she finds Bastet unattractive. She may ping Handmaiden a little bit for Mira, although it's not a complete ping since Bastet is in a position of considerable authority.
spandexisyouth (Maito Gai)
❉❉❉❉
From his writings on the journals, Handmaiden got the impression that Youth was brash, overexuberant, and perhaps a bit dim. This impression was radically altered when he arrived as a member of the Watch after Stoneface's murder--when she used the Force to deflect his DYNAMIC ENTRYYYYY he simply rolled back to his feet, ready for battle. Handmaiden was rather impressed by his skill as well as his composure despite how gruesome and unsettling the scene was. She's uncomfortable with his and Bell's relationship, as the presence of his son means he must have at least had some relationship with a woman and he certainly treats the boy as his son--it's very uncomfortable to watch for someone who grew up as the mark of her own father's infidelity, even if she doesn't remember that.

❉ (for the indiscretion)
Bastet selected him to be second in command of the Guard, which to Handmaiden means that his interactions on the journal conceal hidden depths of competence and duty. However, his blatant flirting and use of innuendo in nearly every conversation tends to make her glower at his writing and reluctant to participate in whatever conversation is going on since she knows her words would be twisted. Add to that a sense of pain mixed with shame and confusion whenever the conversation turns to his and Youth's relationship, because after Lotus arrived the ensuing conflict struck the whole "I am a bastard and the mark of my father's dishonor" chord that's lurking inside of her. Of course, this is all one-sided.
extantlaw (Miles Edgeworth)
❉
Handmaiden has had neutrally positive feelings about Edgeworth for some time; he is professional and businesslike and one of Edensphere's figures of authority. When it was discovered that Raise had murdered Stoneface, however, Handmaiden found his reaction to be quite odd and not something she could explain. She isn't exactly suspicious of him, but her opinion has been a little altered since then.
blue_shields (Sky Tate)
❉❉
They've worked together on the Guard and now the Watch for some time. Though they aren't very talkative in each other's company, Handmaiden finds Sky to be a trustworthy and reliable person. His openness with Companion over the journals perplexes her a bit; being a deeply private person herself she doesn't understand why they would display their affection for each other so publicly.
heretic_hamlet (Ramza Beoulve)
❉❉
In appearance, he somewhat resembles Mical. He seems to be a rather jaded young man, but one who nevertheless takes it upon himself to try and right the wrongs of the world. This meets with Handmaiden's great approval. Although his mode of speaking is rather ornate for her liking, he still does get his point across and he's intelligent on many levels. Handmaiden is glad he's on the Watch.
cathar_jedi (Juhani)
❉❉❉
A Jedi, or someone who was once a Jedi. Handmaiden recognized Sylvar's struggle with the dark side almost as soon as she realized the other woman could use the Force. She also feels a responsibility to help Sylvar re-learn the ways of the Jedi, but when that's combined with Handmaiden's own sense of Not Being Good Enough, and then Sylvar's sense of Not Being Good Enough and uncertainty... well things got off to a rocky start. Handmaiden feels that Sylvar's sense of inferiority runs deeper than her own, coupled with the issue of being very visibly non-Human. She's seen Sylvar's tendency to follow the strong emotion--so far anger--of the moment and that concerns her, not to mention Sylvar's use of Force Lightning against the ninjas. Handmaiden wants to keep her on the straight and narrow.
redheadrabbit (Lavi the Bookman)
❉
He's content to call himself either Rabbit or Bookman, although Handmaiden opts for the latter as it is (supposedly) his real name. She hasn't interacted with him very much, but she wouldn't mind doing so as he seems to share her interest in history. He seems to have something of a world-weary attitude towards Edensphere.
its_me_hooray (Zed)
❉❉
A conundrum. For reasons beyond her understanding, Night seems to be romantically attracted to her. When Handmaiden caught him about to serenade her one morning, she challenged him to a fight in which she soundly beat him--he insulted her by holding back. However, she can see that he is not as confident in himself as she feels he should be and finds his general air of enthusiam and energy to be rather endearing. She doesn't know what to do about his attraction thanks to her various issues with romance, but she has found that he is not unpleasant company.
burntorangesky (Romana II)
❉
Another non-Human, but one who moves in much different circles than Handmaiden. Still, she seems to share the same desire to discover the truth behind the Sphere that Handmaiden does. Handmaiden saved her life after the Fire, hauling her to Medical after being attacked by Juliet, but did not have a great deal of contact with her until receiving a memory that belonged to her. Handmaiden would like to get to know her better.
paintitgray (Reki)
❉
A young non-Human woman with wings and a halo. She seems to have a talent for painting and works at the tea shop, where Handmaiden first encountered her. Their second meeting took place in Silent Hillderness, which Handmaiden found rather more illuminating. Handmaiden sympathizes with Kurayami's frustration and confusion over Edensphere. Overall, she does feel kindly towards her, but isn't sure how to get closer.
destinyfollowed (Freya Crescent)
❉❉
Another non-Human, and a fine warrior to boot. She fought alongside Handmaiden to rescue Kurayami from the Hillderness, and Handmaiden found herself duly impressed with the woman's skill and determination. Although Spear seems to have trouble finding direction, Handmaiden thinks that she will find her way and finds her to be good company so far.
chieftainess (Ayla) - A warrior. Handmaiden challenged her to a fight over the journals and was not at all disappointed in the woman's skill and prowess. Though her speech and fighting style don't quite line up with Handmaiden's own and it's clear that they are from quite different worlds, Handmaiden likes and respects Victory a great deal. Gone.
esp_optimism (Maya Fey) - Most of the time when Medium wrote on the journals, Handmaiden found herself baffled at the bizarre strings of logic she found there. She met Medium in-person when she rescued her from the rampaging schooldesks, and offered to teach Medium how to defend herself with a staff not long afterwards. Although Medium still baffles Handmaiden, Handmaiden is less stern than she was, since Medium is enthusiastic, cheerful, and though she's still far from an expert in staffwork she still puts everything into it. Handmaiden is rather fond of her. Gone.
white_disciple (Matsuri) - A philosophical Scavenger, but also more than that. Seren (formerly Serenity), though not knowledgeable about the technology that is everyday for Handmaiden, nevertheless strikes her as very Jedi-like in her thinking. They encountered each other during the fire, when Handmaiden was able to heal her and the two of them set out to try and help anyone they could--at that time, being able to help her and the calm strength that Seren displayed helped Handmaiden to keep her horror and anguish from throwing her into the power of the dark side. Gone.
smokesordie (Badou Nails) - He's obnoxious, sarcastic, and crude and therefore reminds Handmaiden very strongly of Atton Rand. This is why she speaks to him, despite finding him completely aggravating. There was also an incident in November where he started firing his gun into the Marketplace for unknown reasons and Handmaiden had to subdue him (fortunately nobody was hurt). It soon became clear that he wasn't even aware of what he'd done, and he hasn't caused trouble since that she's aware of, but she still doesn't harbor a lot of good feelings towards him.
sassyandpink (Sydney Drew) - A young woman with an interest in fashion and frivolities, but also with an underlying civic-mindedness that Handmaiden approves of. Their first meeting was during Inspherno, when Handmaiden watched her burn alive, and she was also the guard on duty when Pinky was reborn... which was sort of awkward. Pinky allowed Handmaiden to watch as she tested her powers to transform her hands and assisted her when the Wilderness shifted unexpectedly to Mordor during Hobosphere, and she seems as though she could be a friend. Gone.
desig_survivor (Wedge Antilles) - Rogue seems to be familiar with some things that Handmaiden is, and some things she isn't. He recognized the name Darth Vader and the description she gave of the costume she was trapped in, revealing that the man was clearly an evil of some sort. He also described the Jedi in mythical terms and as something gone from the Galaxy, which both was and was not a ping. Though he seems to be a law-abiding citizen, Handmaiden does have some concern over a propensity to resort to force in situations where it might not be needed and rash action, particularly in the case of Black. After a discussion with Youth, she's quietly monitoring him on the journals and when she sees him in-person. Gone.
earth_uninstall (Tieria Erde) - Handmaiden's opinion of him is decidedly negative. She has no respect for the way he complains and tries to stir up public opinion against the Guard, Watch, and whatever else he seems to find unjust without actually backing it up with any new ideas or action of his own. In a way, she has more respect for Praise than Aurora--not that she had any respect for his act of murdering Stoneface, but he at least fought. In her opinion, Aurora's writings are as much a waste of ink and paper as the tabloids. And yet, in some subconscious way, his self-righteous and high-handed attitude probably pings her for Atris. Reborn as Lithium and now gone.
subject_e0057 (H/Allelujah Haptism) - Handmaiden isn't sure what her opinion of this man is yet. His split personality was explained to her, with Praise being the violent, self-serving 'half' that murdered Stoneface, and Raise being the more mild-mannered self. She does not like Praise for very obvious reasons and thinks he is an idiot on top of that (as he could not have picked a more effective way to prove how important the Watch's formation was). She considers the Raise half to be honorable for turning himself in when others might have fled or hidden. Handmaiden does not, however, regard them as two separate people. She thinks the man needs a good psychiatrist but none of those seem to exist in Edensphere. Reborn as Dyad, so far sans crazy. Gone.

❉❉❉❉ = She would quite happily snub you by refusing to speak or fight with you.
If you think your character should be on this list, don't be shy about leaving a comment to let me know! It's entirely possible that I've left someone off through absent-mindedness.
