Jen sat at her desk, staring blankly out the window that it sat opposite to. She had a lot of things on her mind. Her Seventh Year at Hogwarts, boys, her future. Everything was rushing at her so quickly, and at that exact moment, Jen didn't even know what to do with herself. Her mind had been running so wildly that she had actually been going over her relationship with Jake in her head.

The Hufflepuff sighed and leaned over the desk so that her head was resting on her arms which were crossed over each other. She had been sitting like so for less than a minute when she heard a scratching at the window. A very unfamiliar owl was sitting on her windowsill, carelessly smooshing the flowers that sat in the flowerbed.

"Hey! Get in here," Jen said angrily as she opened the window hastily. She squinted at the owl after closing the window, and looked for any sign of a note.

"Nothing?" she said to herself. The owl took a step foward, and Jen noticed that it was holding what turned out to be a white rose in its left claw. Her eyes widened as she took it slowly and carefully from the owl. She examined it for a moment, trying to figure out if there was some sort of note attached to it.

"That's weird," Jen muttered under her breath. "Who could this be from?"

The owl certainly didn't look familiar. She ran over the possibilities in her head. It had to be from a guy...but which one? Avery? No, probably not. Harry? Yeah, right. Brady? ...Maybe, but not likely. And definitely not Riah.

Jen turned over the rose a couple of times before coming to a thought. In a state of impatience, she quickly grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill, and began to write.

Thank you so much for the rose. They're my favorite.

She sat for a moment, wondering if she should even bother asking who it was. It might sound stupid, but hey. Whatever.

Ever going to tell me who this is from?

She doubted she would even get an answer, but went on a whim, and attached the letter to the owl. "Take this to where you got it from," Jen told it. She opened the window and watched as it soared back into the sky.
