Wow, okay first of all I apologise for all the typing errors. I am amazed you were able to decipher what I was trying to say :P Sorry I am quite tired from work and it's an hour later here than in the UK so you can figure it's about my bedtime ;)
I suck at text, which is why I usually go for just the person's name or tiny text >.<
Okay well I am not sure what we're going to do about the Canvas Project actually, very few entries, sadly :( But to talk about Eclipse, it IS expensive, I am quite aware of that and occassionally wondered why I booked (and then realised I am just crazy :P) I don't live in the UK, I am Dutch so I live in the Netherlands which makes it all the more pricey. I am not a student, but I am about as broke as one as I went backpacking through Canada for a year after I finished uni and I've been back for about a year now but I try to save most of my money to go backpacking through Australia for a year starting July.
Anyway, for people in the UK a standard ticket to Eclipse is actually pretty cheap for what it includes (all autographs, parties, talks, etc. If you'd have to buy it seperately you'd be paying much more). I got a Gold Ticket though because amongst other things it includes a ticket to a cocktail party with the guests (I got it solely for Zachary Quinto alas he cancelled...). I met Zach Quinto last April and that guy was so amazingly kind to his fans, just wow. The event I was at also included a Q&A with him, Tim Kring and Jeph Loeb and basically it's what got me hooked to Heroes and the cast. I then went to the Heroes World Tour in August and since I've only become a bigger fan. This cast is fantastic; so sweet to their fans, truly amazing. That is essentially why I booked a ticket ;)
Big plus is that a whole bunch of my friends are going so it's going to be a blast no matter what happens.
Wow Dutch and youre coming to England? Wow. Where abouts is it? Manchester? [that sounds right.. maybe thats something else]
Tbh if ZQ was there i would so be there. I want to go so bad for David Anders. I love him. Have you seen buckshotwon's videos on youtube? the one where he sings Jesus Christ Superstar kills me every time . Gah.
Yeah, I notice that about Heroes. Its kinda crazy, but amazing too, the way they are sooo good with fans. Such an awesome group of people. Wow, a Q&A with ZQ. Id just put my hands up and be like "you can eat my brains anyday *winks*". Yes, he'd probably run a mile.
Ohh you speak verrrry good english, is it your mother tongue? What did you do for University?
Last comment, then I am going to bed and I'll reply again tomorrow :)
First of all I LOVE England can't wait to get back there! The con is in Northampton. I am staying in London first for a few days then head out to the con city. In London I am also going to a few plays btw. Leonard Roberts (D.L. from Heroes) is in one and Charlie Cox (Tristan from Stardust) in another, pretty cool :D
I love David too. And Sendhil is coming and Santiago. And some other people, but not so much interested in them. Yes I have seen the BSW videos, dude I saw him film during the Heroes World Tour!! (I was there in Paris and London). Adrian is AWESOME xD
Oh dude when Zach was on stage me and my friend yelled "brains" really loud haha and he totally noticed and looked in our direction (we were sitting front row). There also was an autograph session (which I couldn't make but my friend told him of me, I was -just- on my way and afterwards when he walked out he took the time for a posed pic!! And then the next day he remembered me by name *ded*) and we saw Heroes on a giant screen. All very cool.
Nope, Dutch is my mother tongue. I love English though, which is why I spent 2006 in Canada :) I studied journalism, not English. Currently not working in that area because I only need a temp job to save up money for Australia, but one day I will.
You're not nosey you're just curious and being curious is a good habit imho ;) Now it's my turn to ask you something though :P What are you studying? What do YOU love so much about Heroes?
OMG. So this might sound like the weirdest thing ever, but i think im in london the same time as you o__O. I bought my mum tickets to a musical on the 12th march, were staying overnight. I just saw that Heroes is on that weekend. Cool. Weird, i might see you and not know who you are. Dear lord its a small world! I was going to say to you if its in Manchester go to London too. Cos London is like. awesomeness. I want to live their when im older. There or NYC. =] Just incase I run into peter petrelli....
He remembered your name! wow. Awesome. I dont think I'd be able to speak. Seriously. I would just flail at the hotness. Especially if he was wearing those glasses and a cute lil geek tanktop. Guh.
I'd love to go to Australia. I want to go travelling so bad. I was going to take a year out before university but then I got accepted... This brings me on to your questions! :]
On the studying thing, Im 17 at the moment and in the year before university. I'm studying English Literature, History and Theatre Studies. Shows my interests, no? I want to go to university in Leeds, which is like 6th best in the country for English Literature. After Oxford and Caimbridge, which I refused to apply too. Newhos, I planned a gap year working and in America cos i messed up my last year exams and thought they wouldnt offer me a place. They were the first university to respond with an offer. I went CRAZY. I swear.
So there [if i get the grades, which im busting a gut to get] I'll be doing English Literature and History. I love english so much, I have a hatred for things like science [my attitude is sorta; so a plant makes food like that, and that will help me in life because?] and will debate [not argue] with anyone who thinks otherwise lol. I often get them on the right side of thinking ;].
After that I want to go on to teach English in secondary schools [11-18 ages, mainly the older ages]. I'll also teach history [why im doing both, makes me more useful :P] because i cant leave history behind. Love them both so much.
Why do I love heroes so much? The hot guys.
No, that isnt it. I love the cast and their attitude. I mean it just shows in the WGA strike when they all joined the writers that they are passionate for the show and their fans, but understand that they arent the main deal. I find with a lot of shows the actors kinda think they own the place. Clearly that isnt the case. I love the way its written, esp S1, how they were all entertwined, like that giant future!Hiro timeline.and the slash subtext
I think what i love most is that they are heroes, but they're normal. That kinda sounds a bit goofy, but it makes sense to me. its that they have all these powers and abilities, and could go power crazy [spesh Peter] but they dont. [minus a couple, but lets face it Sylar killed for those powers, hes a whole other story..] Its the way they blend into society, dont need to be famous, understand the consequences of their talents and use them for good.
Its also the genius of the concept. I mean think about things people dont understand or cant comprehend; superpowers, the supernatural, travelling time and space, being lost on an Island. Now think about perhaps (maybe in my opinion) the biggest fandoms there were. LOST. Supernatural. Buffy, maybe. [with that angel]. Doctor Who. No one really exploited the powers thing in the right way, Batman, Xmen, Superman just stole comic book ideas that were outdated and maybe modernized them slightly. But Heroes bought the idea of powers into modern society and made the characters likable to everyone, but more importantly believable.
Idk. That might be it.
Again, ramble is the key word!
Oh, and I dont blame you going to bed. Its late and all. =] So speak tomoro!
That's really freaky, I actually have a musical booked on the 12th as well o.O The plays I mentioned are on the 10th and 11th, I am going to the Lord of the Rings musical on the 12th.... which one do you have booked?
Also, depending on how long you're in London and if you like Leonard Roberts from Heroes you should try to either catch him after a performance or go to the play (cheapest ticket is only 10 quid) :D I did that with Orlando Bloom last August and got his autograph and pics, so we knows, you might be lucky too ;) I love London, been there a few times over the past year now. I went to NYC in 2006, but I didn't like it -that- much.
Haha yeah I pretty much flailed too ^_^ We saw him a few times over the course of 2 days and the flailing did not decrease one bit. And I didn't even like ZQ as much yet as I do know! LOL One day he wore sunglasses with a t-shirt, hoodie and a jeans jacket over it, the next day was more formal in a light blue suit. He looked very, very hot *flails again*
I've been to Australia once before, but just on a holiday from 2 weeks. That's not enough time, so hopefully I have more time now to explore Australia/New Zealand (I'll also be working for extra travel cash so I don't have the full year to just travel).
That are great topics to study!! I love all of them ^_^ I don't know Leeds well, but I've been to the castle! Very pretty. Why won't you apply for Cambridge? Btw, that's AWESOME that they were the first to accept xD *crosses fingers you'll get the marks you need*
I wholeheartedly agree with you on the amazing Heroes cast. What with the World Tour, BSW videos and just a genuine kind response to fans at whatever event they are at, they're truly one of a kind. Slash subtext FTW!!
And true, the concept is brilliant "Ordinary people, with extra-ordinary abilities". Each character (even Sylar) is so real, they have such natural responses to the changes around and in them. They could be your neighbor or cousin or friend from school.
I love rambling, glad you don't mind :D (I am at work now though, so less time to REALLY ramble though I did a quite alright job I think)
You did a very good job considering work! I've been out all day watching this genius comedian in the evening, so come home now but im really tired. Didnt get to bed last night til gone 3.30AM :X He was hilarious though so i dont mind :] he was talking about being a good drunk and what people do with traffic cones and said "how can people claim that getting drunk is a bad thing, when one man looks around him with a trafic cone and says "that bus stop needs a hat". Man is a genius!
Leeds is pretty awesome, I dont know it that well either but i just went to the university and thought "I could spend three years here". People said that would happen but i didnt believe it. To be honest my best firned was pressuring me to go to Cardiff, which although I love the city, the university is rubbish. Leeds Castle! I love Castles! such a history loser
I didnt want to go to caimbridge/oxford cos i wanted to go to a university and have a llife. I didnt want to be looked upon to be some posh stuck up person, because im certainly not that person. And all the pressure, I want to enjoy university life but i want to enjoy what im studying too :]
So what other fandoms are you into? Anything quite as much as Heroes? And maybe I should give you something for David Anders to sign for me ;] With lovee of course. Hes not gay... right? Just when hes with Peter GAH
A little funny thing to end with that will make you laugh in the morning (im taking it your asleep now) He was talking about kids running up to wardrobes opening them and looking for narnia, and he said "i'll give anyone £200 to dress as a lion and sit in a wardrobe in Ikea" :D GENIUS.
I have to admit I didn't spent enough time in Leeds to even see a university! o.O I was staying with people living fairly closeby and just made a trip to the castle... And hey I love castles too, nothing wrong with adoring history ;)
Yeah I heard that whoever goes to Oxford or so get looked at as being posh. I was in Oxford for a few days, really enjoyed it, but people kept saying that...
LMAO I don't think David is guy unless his girlfriend isn't really his girlfriend, dun dun dun... Actually I can only buy 2 autos from each guest as the rules look now, which I kinda want to use myself, sorry :$
Other fandoms I am in too... currently nothing really. Used to be majorly into Lord of the Rings and LOST. Still highly enjoy the former, but I am not big into the fandomy aspect, as for the latter it kinda blew over for me. There's tons of stuff I enjoy though (Chuck, Alias, Veronica Mars, etc), just nothing I really fangirl about I think.
I suck at text, which is why I usually go for just the person's name or tiny text >.<
