...attached is a scan of a flyer recovered from this period. We have evidence this poem, or similar ones, were mass-produced, and were something of a catalyst to the worldwide "peasant revolts" of the time. Though unsuccessful in many cases, they showed no sign of relenting, and caused the death of billions globally.
The fervor that these flyers caused was almost memetic in nature. While not actually memetic - our best scientists and psychoanalysts have not been able to find any actual memes in any reconstructed scenarios - there is a hypothesis that it was something of an autoimmune response. It is usually phrased using terms such as "Gaia", which do not lend themselves to scientific acceptance, but the basic idea is worth considering.
Does humanity have a built in "scorched earth" response to widespread "unnatural" memes? And if so, can the obvious trivial weaponisation by unscrupulous factions be avoided?

Okay, seriously. That alone could have been an entry. Not only is it a poetic lolcat call to arms, it actually friggen rhymes. Also, it's better than 95% of the poetry that gets seriously posted. *AHEM* Pardon me, that was my inside voice. But, suffice it to say, the pro-lol-teriate revolution is in good hands (paws?) for sure. Bravo! And many, many lulz.

Also, if I'm going for the whole "torture the neurons of my readers" thing, I'd rather be able to slap a warning on it first :P

...I got sidetracked on the way to leave you a comment by a revolutionary poem in lolcat, but I liked this entry. :)
