Your house is beginning to sound like mine growing up. Soon you're going to wish you had rubber walls!

Babies are awesome. Especially so when they belong to someone else!

I'm really serious when I say I'm not into babies. She's lived here for two months and I've held her exactly twice. I feel slightly guilty about my non-existent maternal instinct. Thank goodness my mom admitted that she has had no interest in holding the baby either.

Still, I'm somewhat concerned about the ... coarse ... relatives this baby has and would rather she be exposed to a more refined environment.

It's good that you accept that about yourself. So many feel that if they don't feel maternal they need to have a baby to "fix" themselves. Arg! You don't need "fixing"! You are just you!

I'm glad you're taking an interest in the baby's welfare. Being a concerned adult in her life will be a far greater gift than you know.
