My opinion is different from others, maybe because my culture is a little different.
The few people who know me better know that I am absolutely in love with coffee. *Of course* I prefer to have my favorite coffee machine, with the best coffee ever, but if I'd be Ian and I'd be in the middle of a case, then I would take anything, instant, flavored, no matter how crappy it is, as long as I can get a little caffeine. When you're working and you have to pay attention to other stuff but your favorite drink, then you do what you can. You can really love instant coffee if it's all you've got (besides, I can't see Ian asking people to make some good coffee for him, LOL).
And who says vanilla is a girly flavor? In fact, since when a flavour can be described as "girly" or "manly"? You pick your favorite, that's it, there's no other meaning, not really! I actually think it's funny and to me, it's a nice way to show that Ian is human, too, and he can like a simple flavor like that one. *nods*
That's why I think you did a very job with this. I mean, Ian + coffee??? That makes me so happy! :D
PS: Yeah, Irena is so great as a beta. She rocks!
