He came again…today. To visit.
“Kim.” When he calls my name I want to hide because the tint of pink on my cheeks always betrays me and he ends up laughing at me.
It has always been him. His eyes when he laughs, disappear into a thin line. His voice…just as beautiful as his angelic face. And his hair…those strands that cover his eyes. Lovely…just lovely.
I recall the day when he first stepped into my house. I stared at his hair. What color was it?
I was young and I compared it to my favorite fruit. From that day on I called him Strawberry Blonde.
Strawberry Blonde came again…today. To visit.
He wasn’t so busy these past few days.
JUMP just finished a concert and he looked all too happy and carefree when he sat down beside me.
One sweet smile was enough to make my heart flutter. Was that what they call it? Flutter?
“So what are we playing today Kim?”
Kim. Aside from my sister, he was the only one who called me that.
“I don’t know. Tekken again?”
He smirked. I knew he would do that. I always acted as if I didn’t know what he wanted.
So we comfortably sat on the couch and spent the usual one hour on that silly game.
My favorite part was when he kills Nina Williams because it means that he had to tickle me.
But it was also when I knew my time was up.
“You’re playing that again for the nth time. Don’t you guys get tired of that game?
I frowned.
“Hey, it’s fun. You should really try it so that Kim gets to win sometimes.” There he goes again…teasing me like that.
I stuck out my tongue at him. He laughed and stood up only to kiss her on the forehead.
Ouch. I wanted to punch myself in the chest so that the annoying feeling would go away.
Later did I realize that tears where falling from my eyes.
They were about to leave when I stood up and walked towards him.
They were taken aback by my sudden action but it was him who I seemed to bother the most.
“Let’s go Kota. Kota…?” Mia called. But he stayed. Still bothered.
And at that exact moment I grew up.
Our five-year age-difference hit me right in my face.
I sighed and gave him my most honest smile telling him I was fine because I really was.
He seemed to understand without words said when he patted my head gently…just like all those times Mia had to take him away from me.
I waved at them when they got in his car. But he smiled at me for the last time in that day. Still that sweet smile that made my heart flutter.
And so my day ended and I knew that my tomorrow will never be the same again…
…because I already kissed Strawberry Blonde goodbye.
