Title: Library Kiss : chapter 6
Pairing: OC x BEST but only one will prevail :P
Disclaimer : I don’t on the plot. I just made a BEST-version of it. It’s from a manga. Boku wa Kisu de Uso Tsuku by Toma Rei.
Warning: I’m not following Toma Rei’s ending :D So if you’re planning on spoiling yourself w/ the manga, it’s no use :P
Second Ride
She could only hug him tighter as they sped through the highway.
The night breeze was cold but her cheeks were burning hot.
She had to remind herself that the only reason she agreed to this was because her feet were useless.
Those blisters developed into a strain and she didn't even know how and why.
They took a right turn and the bike slowed down. Hikaru got off first and lifted Ann off his bike.
"We should at least be dry in here."
"Hai?"
Then tiny dops of rain fell on the ground.
Ah...sou...

They stood there, leaning against the cold brick walls.
He spoke without looking at her. "Did you enjoy today? I mean...I know we were a bunch of jerks back there but..."
She shook her head and smiled. "I actually enjoyed."
"I had no plans of going to the amusement park." He stared at the rain.
What does he mean?
He took out something from the pocket of his jacket.
"I planned to give you this." He handed her a book. "But when I heard that sophomore brag about going on a date with you..." he hesitated. "I followed him around."
"You stalked...us?" She was caught in her words.
"I'm no stalker! I just wanted to make sure that you were doing fine."
Defensive. Silence.
"I'm fine. Really. Arioka-kun told me he knew who..." Gulp.
"That brat."
Silence again.
The rain was hurting her ears and wetting her feet.
"But he doesn't actually know who it was." She expected a reaction from him but he said nothing.
No more rain. Just drizzling.
Hikaru stared at the handkerchief tied around her ankle. He didn't like it.
"You're feet are wet and cold. There's a store about five meters away from here."
What was her other choice here? None.
"How about your bike?"
"I'll come back for it tomorrow. It's you I need to worry about first."
He was really thinking of not having to do this 'move' at this kind of moment because it was, for him, cliche. It would make it the more obvious.
But something came into his mind. A modification of it, rather.
He took off his jacket and put it around her shivering slender frame.
"Care for a second ride?" He bended over and she knew what he meant.
"Sempai...I don't think..."
But he carried her anyway. Piggyback style.

They were facing the gate with a 'Hayashi' wooden sign on it.
He gently put her down and handed her sandals and bag to her.
She remembered the book he gave her and double checked to see if she didn't drop it along the way.
It was there, safely tucked between her things. She sighed in relief.
"Sempai...Thank y-"
The upper part of her body was wrapped around warm arms. This somehow made her feel comfortable.
"Get a lot of rest, will you?" He said behind her ears. Somehow inaudible but was enough to make her blush.
But there was more. Something she did not imagine to happen. She smiled and nodded.
They both seemed to understand.
"Arigatou sempai."
He patted her head.
Hikaru pressed the doorbell and someone came to open the gate.
"Ann-chan! And who's this young lad with you?"
"Okaa-san, this is my sempai Yaotome Hikaru. He helped me get home when I couldn't walk properly because
of some blisters. "
"Hajimemashite. Yaotome Hikaru desu. Yoroshiku."
"Thank you Yaotome-kun. Would you like to come in? It's cold here outside."
"Thank you Hayashi-san but I think I need to go already. And Ann here needs to rest too." He winked at her.
She smiled back.

"Your sempai is really nice ne?" Her mother said out of the blue when she was combing her daughter's hair.
"Yes he is. And I feel safe when I'm with him. He's someone who makes you feel protected."
She took out the book he gave her.
Pride and Prejudice.
How did he know that I have been wanting to get a copy of this?
She chuckled at the thought.
"Sempai...really."
