So I'm sitting in the library at a computer desk. There are "blinders" to either side of me to give a sense of privacy to all the students respectively doing their thing on the internet. It's a long table with at least fifteen different computers and each slot is filled with someone at the moment. I'm not engaged with any of them despite the fact that A) I'm sitting closer to them than I do with most friends and B) we obviously share a common interest of being online in the library. I don't know if that means anything really or constitutes the grounds to form a friendly relationship but I would like to say hi, get involved sometime.

I felt a little sad about it until I found this video that restored my faith in simple cheerful interactions:

If only we could see everyone like a little robot on a journey and feel free to give a random, simple boosts of kindness.
