I remember when we were on our NYC missions trip, I stood on the Empire State Building with Clint and together we came up with a great movie idea. We saw all the dots that were individual humans walking in the streets below, and we realized that every dot had just as much of a background as we do... they have lives, dreams, loves, hates, interests, hobbies, friends and a family... We thought it would be cool to tie together the individual stories of each of those people by seemingly unrelated events... but these events would quickly link a dozen people with completely different stories who don't even know the others exist.

It is important to recognize the stories of others come long before what we can see with just a few minutes. Attitudes and emotions change quickly, and what we see at any given moment is just a snapshot of how that person feels at that moment... not the entirety of their character.

While Clint and I never made our movie (in fact, the basic premise was stolen by the makers of the movie Crash... but I won't sue), we learned a lot from the discussion about just how big the world and just how many stories we are missing...
