Glad you're safe! Sorry you visit to Lebanon didn't go as planned, but you got to see Cyprus, too, out of the deal.

Welcome back.

yay for being rescued! Are you in Norway now, or did they just take you somewhere else in the Med. area?

yay is right :)
because of the norwegians we arrived ahead of the rest of the US evacuees, so i caught a flight back to new york before the airport got overrun with fleeing americans. alas for not staying to check out more of the mediterranean, but at the same time it's a relief to be home.

Hey, doll, I tried a couple times to get ahold of you, but no luck, or maybe you're screening, in which case my face is red. I just wanted to let you know I am for sure going to be in Williamsport on Friday night, at the coffee and tea room at 7:30, probably until at least 9:30, at which time I'll probably depart for bars unknown. But I'm staying overnight in town so I will be around *somewhere* and will probably harass your cell if you're still in the vicinity. HOPEFULLY YOU'LL SEE THIS IN ADVANCE SO YOU CAN TURN IT OFF. <3

hey man, i realize that this sounds like a lame excuse, but my car actually died in new york and after using up my cell battery calling AAA, i realized that i'd left my phone charger at home.
i got the car towed to williamsport but now i'm without transport. but i shall be here friday for sure! i'll ride my bike to the coffee tea room if i must!

Didn't know you were in Beirut. Glad to hear you got out ok (and early). Zeina was stuck in the Beka'a and barely snuck through Syria - all the roads to beirut were bombed (as were the roads leading into syria. Jennifer is living in Israel (she had just bypassed Haifa) - her fiance was one of the Israeli's unlucky enough to go to S. Lebanon. I started working back at Centcom back in May so I got to see behind the scenes of the evac - which was rather saddening I must admit. I dunno really - I guess I'm just over this war bullshit already. Well at least I didn't take Korean and Farsi.
