this is an old writing I had to post

I wrote a poem about a song
And I wrote a song about a poem
About a girl who took my heart and never brought it home
She threw it down on the side walk
I threw cigarettes in the street
And I could only walk away
When she’d look at me
I hope one day she’ll realize
That she had more than she ever asked
I turned around to reach her hand
But I couldn’t grasp
She has her eyes on another
Another guy down the street
I stare at him and man I wanna beat
I take a walk down the alley
The best poems ever thought
I needed to close this
A little time smoke
I looked at the bridge, it was so calm and beautiful
And when I looked into her eyes, I wanted to die
I kicked down the burnt up ashes
And feel sorry for myself
When one day she’ll realize
She missed the best story ever to tell
I kicked the pebbles in the river
Tried to pick back my heart
But when she walked away
She stepped on and let it drift decay
And I don’t know
What her feelings show
I tried to tell her how the story ends
And she screamed where the lies have been
I heard her quote in my head
And repeated line by line
I never stopped to realize
She never stared into my eyes
And so I can not finish this
It’s a story never told
Never to be finished
Never to be hold
So dear to the heart
When the glory sheds
And all I’m askin, is for a friend
