You probably don't want to read this, it will be very boring...
Almost a year has gone by since my last post. Most likely this will occur again because I forget about all the websites I sign up with. I suppose I should just write about this year so maybe it can be remembered; it was senior year, after all...
It started out as a pretty normal year. There were a few issues with my friends that have since been resolved, but other than that I was just trying to keep my grades high enough so that colleges would accept me. I ended up applying to 5 schools, American Univeristy, York College of PA, Rutgers University, Villanova Univeristy, and Loyola College. No, I did not apply to UD. I really did not wasnt to go there and I still stand my decision 6 months later. All five schools did accept me and I ended up enrolling at Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus. However, I later realized that Rutgers did not have the majors that I was thinking about, so I had to choose another school. At this point I was thoroughly confused and stressed out because school was getting to be a lot and my boss is always frustrating, then adding having to find another school to go to was almost too much for me to deal with. I kind of based my decision on scholarship money coming from each school. I got nothing from Villanova, so that was out, I would have had a full tuition scholarship from York, but I really did not want to go there, so that left Loyola and American who gave me $12.5K and $18K, repspectively. My mom, Jess R, and I skipped school/work one day to drive down to DC and Baltimore to look at the schools, because Jess and I were both pretty confused. After all that, Jess decided on UD and I decided on American University. After everything, I had no way of turning back to another school; a few days after I accepted American, the May 1 deadline passed.
For Spring Break (April 15-24), Megan Byrne, Chris Carper, Kristin Lake, Rachel Koslowski, Maggie Degennaro, Katie Roelofs, Kim Billips, Lindsay Adami, Justin Blair, Senora Rodriguez, Senora Scurria, Mrs. Micale, Chris Micale, and I went to Spain. We took an EF Educational Tour to Madrid, Barcelona, Zarauz, Bilbao, Segovia, San Sebastian, and a few other day trips, we even went to France for a day. We were on the tour with a school group from Rhode Island. All of them were really cool and made the trip a lot more fun. We had dance parties in our rooms a few times, but we never did make it to a discoteca...
Graduation was June 3. THANK GOD!!! I am ecstatic to have finally graduated high school. It has been a long 12 years and I am so excited to go to college. After graduation, Kallie, Megan, and I went to the beach house we rented for SENIOR WEEK! It really was a fun time, even though we stayed inside and watched TV for the majority of the time because it was cloudy and rainy. There was one night when Kallie and I actually drank alcohol. It seems like it wouldn't be a big deal, but we have never had alcohol in that environment or to that extent before. And it was SO much fun!! hahaha. We went over to Jessica's beach house and had Bacardi Raz/Vanila shots and some Mike's Hard Lemonade. We played Beer Pong (with Mike's) and Flip Cup (also with Mike's), which is an amazingly fun game when everyone is drunk.
Now, I am home for the summer, but I am working for most of it because I need to save money for college spending. I'll probably try to volunteer some at this art camp, too. Overall, it was a good senior year, but it is time to start something new.
