So I'm finally leaving Cherrygrove City.

[ If the camera happens to be a little jerky its because Claire's videoing and walking ]I've probably made more money than I can ever do anything with but that wasn't why I worked. It was just nice having something to do, it felt like having a purpose, even though I'm supposed to be here to train my Pokemon ( Read more... )

I think it kind of gets easier to figure out what they want with time? I mean, it was confusing for me at first too, but now I just kind of... get it when they want or need something.

Do they need much? [ The only time they've really been out of their Pokeball other than for a bit of training is for a small run in her room or at the Pokemon Center... she hasn't learned much ]

Food and attention, mostly. And, if you're some of mine.... bows, sombreros, maracas, tons of PokéTreats...

They sound more like people with everything I hear.

They kind of are more like people most of the time. I know mine sure as hell act like it...

I guess I should stop thinking of them like animals then, even if they do look it.

It kind of gets easier if you do... animals are animals, and Pokémon are Pokémon, you know?

What does that actually mean? I'm used to only people and animals.

Well, I guess it means that they're not really either, so it's tough to just... treat them as one kind of thing? Haha, that probably doesn't make much sense, huh...

Not really. I guess finding out what they like and treating them that way would better if they're all so different.

Ye-yeah... I mean, I guess the best thing you can do is try to get to know them? Talk to them, try different kind of foods... take them with you to the stores and stuff. [Pauses.] I dunno if you keep them out a lot, but most of them like to get to walk around and spend time with their trainers and stuff.

Having them out wouldn't be so bad while I'm walking. [ Except until she got to the cave which she doubted would be any time soon ] I guess I won't know what they're like unless I keep them around me.

That's definitely the best way to learn. I usually keep all of mine out when I can, though I guess it's kind of different living in one place. When I travel, I kind of switch around and keep two out at a time.

I've only got two so I guess that helps.
